Golden Beak Golf. This entry combines golfing and flappy bird!
You can play this game with just the Z button. (Hit Z to win!!)
Hit Z at the intro menu to start
Hit Z to set your power (forward momentum) while the meter is running.
Hit Z to set your lift (upward momentum) while the meter is running.
Hit Z while the egg is airborne to turn in to a bird
Hit Z while you are a bird to flap, flap ,flap!
Rinse and repeat until you hit the goal at the end of the level.
If you want to play again, hit Z when you see the final score screen, the screen will go black (It's running the main menu update, but not the draw) and you can press Z to replay. <3

I don't know if it's something to do with your code or the website, but sprites are a little blurry. Not a deal breaker by any means, though. Good job!
Solid entry, the game is super annoying but I guess it's by design :P I like the audio, obstacles could use a different green than grass to bit a bit more readable.

@Jajo I did stretch the sprites out a good bit, but it seems fine on my end. I've tested it in Chrome. Maybe an internet connection or other browser issue? Thanks for playing!
@Moczan haha yes, its suppose to be that weird old-school difficulty. Though I am planning on polishing the power/lift in the future, moreso the lift. And I couldn't think of a good obstacle besides a tree. I agree that green is a bit clashing. I plan to fix that in the future. Thanks for playing!

It's a mix between arcade and golf I guess which worked surprisingly well and made for quite a fun game. The one button idea was good because it was easy to figure out how to play the game but I didn't realize that you can turn into a bird while airborn at first. But it makes sense since the golfball is an egg.
The lift and power was a little confusing though because it didn't seem linear and was hard to know when to press to get the egg to fly low or high in order to get through the holes. An arrow pointing in the direction of travel would be easier or some way to see the path of the egg.
The style of the game was cool and pico-8 based games are usually a lot of fun. Nice choice for a game jam.

The game is fun, I like the idea of the game, but it is pretty hard to actually golf, you kinda have to rely on the flapping to get anywhere. But overall its a fun simple game.
@Yubs Yea I want to make the golfing more rewarding in the future! I want to find a good way to give the user a preview of the course or something like that.
Easy controls but hard to master. The idea is great but it is really difficult to do it right ( for me). After some "training" I got it and had fun. Thanks! :)
Oh wow, I did not see this combination comming. I love it! I only have one complaint though: You should have reduced the number of controls needed to play this. How do you even reach all of the buttons with your hands?!
Neat idea for a game ! But daaaaamn this is too hard. I don't think it's even possible to go trough one of the obstacle without hitting it. But anyway, it's still a good game. I like the presentation, and it work pretty well. Good job !
Damn it, 20 minutes later and I still can't break 4: and I got really good at Flappy Bird back in the day ;)
My only tiny nitpick is the power bar: there's no reason for it to go so powerful I think - Like, max should be 50% - 75%... it's frustrating (not the good kind) to accidentally go anywhere over 50% and then you know there's no way to recover. I guess it would be cool if the initial shot could be more influential or integral to how the flight part worked.
But this was great fun - I played for ages. I loved the "multi-stage-ness" of it. Perfect graphics and audio (reminded me a bit of the old StrongBad videlectrix games too - which is always a good thing)!
Neat game. Could be great as a mobile game since you can do each action with only one button.
The gap is very small to fly through, which makes it difficult from the start. If you started with larger gaps and had it shrink the further you go it might give a better feel to the game.
It's a neat concept, but it's quite tough to make progress by either golfing or flapping. I basically hit every obstacle on the way to the hole on each of my three or four playthroughs, except for one that I managed to fly through. Part of the problem is the gaps are too small and part is that there seems to be a bit of a lag between pressing Z and the power/lift meters registering the input.
Really interesting combination of themes! Seems like you end up doing more flapping than golfing, and I spent most of my time trying to minimize power and lift so I can flap
Interesting mashup! It does feel a little unbalanced though; there isn't really much point to trying to golf effectively, since a faster hit makes the flappy bird game harder, and you can only realistically clear one gate per shot with the golf shot.
Making the whole thing playable with one button was a nice touch. Always nice to see PICO-8 entries too!
@sean-s-leblanc yes! I am planning on actually bringing this game to a completed state. Maybe 9 "holes". My biggest challenge right now is trying to find a way to make the golfing feel more important!
