Can you get the elusive Haitian 5 Star Feline Fish Cuisine Certificate?
Nice job! I got confused on the baseball part, but after three or four tries I managed to whack the fish, ha ha. Cute graphics and fun concepts! Congrats on the game!
I didn't expect this little game to be that much fun! I couldn't stop playing until I got the best rating! :) Is it intended that you get a 4 star rating, when you reel in the big fish but miss it with the bat? Nevertheless a nice little game :)
Great game ! I love the concept and the whole presentation, it's very cute and well done. It's quite simple and short but it doesn't need to be longer, I enjoyed it a lot. Good job !
I love the art, it could use some button icons in every screen to show how to play but all in all it looks really cute! A question, which are the different genres you combined?
This is a fun game! And cute concept. It's simple enough that I could remember the controls from the description after scrolling down to check them twice when things weren't working; still, the first thing I'd recommend is some kind of indication in each scene for which buttons to use (for what).
The cheerful muzak and sound effects went well with the art and gameplay. Overall, really great job!
I like the concept, but the different parts could really do with some instructions. Also, the second part feel like one of the only ones you can "fail", making you constantly go back to the fishing-part that really had no challenge at all compared to the rest. Could use some balancing-out. Love the presentation and the music fits well! Very funky. Also, thanks for the fish :)
I LOVE the concept and the artwork + bonus points for combining 3 themes! Some ingame control prompts would have been highly appreciated as I found myself scrolling down to check the controls constantly. I feel like my Palico from Monster Hunter World would be super into these pastimes.
Thank you all for your kind words and honest feedback!
For our post-Ludum-Dare version we will certainly add instructions. That is something we absolutely forget about under time constraints. The baseball game will also be altered to be more intuitive. And of course the pike will be added, after all it's on the cover. There still is a lot of polishing to do. But well, for now we have to live with the current version.
@Rha It's a mixture of fishing game, sports game and cooking game ;)
@Lost Dutchman Software Actually I noticed the palico connection only after designing the kitchen, when the fishing and baseball sprites where already done. But it's so obvious! When I look at it now, the whole game has a light Cheeko Sands vibe (the Felyne town from Monster Hunter 4). It propably was subconscious influence.
Dang! You've got a good one! This is really fun! I love the art, and the idea is hilarious! While the audio is a little lacking, the mood more than makes up for that. Good job, and good luck!
I laughed out loud the first time I played through this. I was grateful for my dual monitor setup; I was able to put your instructions on one screen and play on the other. Instructions are *always* the last minute panic in jam games! I loved the weird art style (why does my fish have legs?!?) and it had a hectic touch of WarioWare to it between the three mini games.
I would have liked to see a little more feedback with the baseball level for whether I was doing a good job or not (I never quite managed five stars!)
@Dragojt The baseball game propably is the offender here, right? It's a bit unintuitive: You have to set the aim in a way, that the fish will pass through it. Then you have to stop the strength bar. You can relax after that, the hitting happens automatically. I think, I will add this to the description now.
We are really sorry about the inconvenience and already changed it for the post-LD version. Sadly, for now we have to keep it this way. Thanks for still enjoying the overall mood! :)
Really cute mash-up of ideas! I love the pixel cats!!! Especially the fishing one after you land a fish. :)
It's so hard to remember to add the controls to the game in a jam! During playtesting, you already know how to play so it doesn't even occur to you until the last moment. I totally feel you there!
I was a little disappointed that I wasn't treated to a cute animation of all three cats enjoying their fish, a la Monster Hunter. Mostly because the game was so cute, I just wanted more of that art!
Charming graphics! I like the music as well and the gameplay was concise and easy to understand (besides the baseball one, it took me two tries). Overall, good job! It was fun to play and had me laughing the whole time!
haha lovely entry! I had a lot of fun with it! Combining 3 little minigames is a refreshing idea and it was executed very well. In my opinion the art fitted in perfectly! I can't imagine anything else that could achieve the same level of hilariousness.
Lol, this was really fun. Nice cute graphics and haiti music made it even more enjoyable. I really like the concept and execution. One con: I would change the gray background to more happy colour :)
At first I didn't success the baseball part but then I only did homerun. This is a fun experience, cute graphics and sound design during the game. The only con I have is for the music during the main menu which I find a bit annoying after a while. Otherwise, good job!
Love this game. Thought i had to feed a smaller fish to catch the bigger fish man mutant but, once I got that bad boy in my kitchen he was done for yum yum yum. great work!
HAHAHA!! Cool game! Nice graphicsm cool audio, wacky combination of minigames to get the fish done! It was super fun to play. I agree with other comments about the baseball part, it was really hard to pull off! Anyway, AWESOME GAME! 5/5
Funny game! I would've appreciated a bit more instructions in game, the batting didn't feel very intuitive. I still enjoyed this submission though. Good work!
4 stars for me! Haha, this was short and obviously could use some more work, but at the same time it was quite entertaining and cute. I won't belabor any of the points that have already been made, just keep at it!
@paulhocker We are sorry to hear this! You have to set the aim in a way, that the fish will pass through it. Then you have to stop the strength bar. This can happen long before the fish reaches you. The swinging of the bat happens automatically. This seems to be the biggest problem with our game and in the post-LD version this will be handled in a much more intuitive way. Sadly, it's against the rules to change the current build.
@Beebo Studios you totally can fix it! https://daar.itch.io/bird-view-burger-barn Look at my game for an example. I have two download links: one GameJamVersion which is what we were able to do within the time limit and a latest windows release which adds a nice little tutorial and new graphics. You can also put a graphic tutorial image on your page. That's not updating the game, it's just some extra instructions, right?
@jonathan-daar Thank you! Right now, we are working on the 1.0 Post LD version but we want to release it when everything we want is included. So it will take a while. Also on itch.io we can only upload one HTML5 version at a time and we want the people here to test our LD version so they can rate what we have achieved within the timeframe. Otherwise it would be a bit unfair.
On the whole, I think you did a really good job, especially with the presentation. Aside from the awkward-to-understand baseball minigame, I don't think there's anything wrong with the game as it is. However, there are some things I wish were different:
-I think the in-game graphics were cute, but I wish they were styled like the title screen, which I think is a much more appealing look.
-The music was fine from a composition standpoint, but I didn't like the instruments used; it made it difficult to pick out the different channels so it all kind of blended together awkwardly.
@niterich Thank you! For the most part, we worked on the game as a team of two. The audio guy and the other (and muuuuuch better) art guy only had time on the last day and only for a few hours, so we are happy to have music and a title screen in the first place. Having better ingame-graphics is kind of utopic for that reason, though of course I totally agree with you! Thank you for your feedback regarding the music!
Awesome! Certainly the funniest game I've played this time around. Graphics, sound and mood all fit together wonderfully, I'm a big fan of the art style too, great job :grinning:

The artwork of the title is awesome. And also the pixel art style is great. Congratulations!

Great entry!!!
And I loved the names about the things (Idk how to explain) And just this was an awesome game! Really good job there!!!
I love the combination of these 3 Minigames and it remind me a lot of the Warioware titles.
Thank you.
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

Come and try my game! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/tactical-hydra
 What I loved
- The graphics and sound effects were charming- the fishing mini game gave me nostalgia for link's awakening
:thought_balloon: My Thoughts
-Batting the fish is really confusing! I recommend making it simpler and more intuitive. We already changed the baseball mechanics for our Post-LD build, so stay tuned!
@Jonathan-Daar Finally someone made the connection to Link's Awakening! We actually expected this comment to be one of the first ones :D

COuldn't always hit with the bat, but it comes easy once you are used to it
