SHMUP: The NEW RPG is, as the title says: a shmup combined with an rpg. The goal is pretty simple: kill as many enemies as possible without dying.

This is my 4th ludum dare, second game completed and first game done for the compo. Fun challenge!

I just feel like this is a regular Shmup. Basically, the only "RPG" element is leveling up, but that's very similar to what Shoot'em ups have done for a long time as leveling up only heals you and makes you fire faster (basically, it's like picking up an upgrade in a regular shmup)
Too bad there's no music as well. Overall, your game isn't bad, but I just think it doesn't fit the theme. Congrats on making the deadline anyway and keep on making games! :)
