@ditzel yep, that did the trick. playing it right now!

overall it's pretty fun to run around and kick balls at people, but i think the thing that hurts this the most is that without a way to protect your own goal (aside from puppy guarding it) it can feel fairly random and disappointing to just all of a sudden be dead.

other than that though I had a pretty good time overall 3/5

This was amazing! A really good take on the battle royale genre. The circle felt a bit too big for me, but that was my only issue. Great job!

The concept was truly interesting, not your usual battle roayle! I had problems trying to kick the balls to other people goals (maybe i was just bad). Fun little game anyway!

Intresting take on football actually, fun to play, ofc a game like this would be truly fun in multiplayer rather than single

Interesting little game, though I'm not sure what the right tactics are. A post-compo multiplayer version of this would be hilarious!

I had a few problems running it on my machine, as it was really laggy, especially as soon as the AI players reached the middle of the field. It ran at about 3 FPS. But you are not to blame, as my laptop is quite old already and there's not a lot of time for optimization during LD. :D However, I really liked the idea and concept, as well as the graphics. :)

@Apace The executable runs way faster than the browser.

OMG I love this!!! The concept is really fantastic. Also making different AI in 48h, really good job!
Only one small thing is the control and camera can be better. Anyway, really enjoy it~

@RobinbyZhou Yes, there is an AI that just runs to the closest ball and a different one just try to keep their goal clear.

Wow, what a great silly concept! I was following your blog posts expecting something pretty ok but this is just stupid fun. It's a bit rough with some of the animations and AI but it's a very entertaining little time waster. Just some tweaking needed to make it even better. Also, the web version does indeed lag quite a bit, which seems to be a common problem.

Ha great concept! It would have been cool if the circle updated in real time instead of just reloading the level

Pretty cool, had fun playing it :-D Tried impossible mode and all came storming towards my goal :-o
The mouse camera controls could have been a better though, maybe a bit faster :-)

Very fun game, would be super if it was multiplayer but that (I think) way too hard for a jam.

@Jiri_One Yes, I got a lot of other stuff to do this weekend. It was smashed together in 13 productive hours.

What a hilarious concept! the gameplay is good, but would benefit from an actual online setup with two member squads but there's obviously no point in getting something like that together for a game jam. Maybe a more elegant camera control system would help it but as is it's super playable

Gotta say that you nailed the theme of the jam. Football is suppose to be you trying to score goals against your opponent while a Battle Royale sees you trying to avoid confrontation so you are the last man standing. Offense vs Defense.

But I gotta say I don't like elimination style games, so... I have nothing for ya. Sorry.

Maybe tank style controls for a soocer game are obnoxious, but I don't know if you have done a soccer-style game before, because I expected ball-player magnetization and better kicking controls but all I got was "nudge" forward and kick the ball...

I saw this one on my Google news feed and knew I had to play it! Very fun, Please PLEASE make a multiplayer version of this.

The controls are very weird, it's quite hard to shoot the ball somewhere. But aside from that, that's one of the best game I've played so far ! The idea is so crazy yet so fun, I love it !

Fun game, quite difficult though!

Funny game.

It's difficult to hit the ball, which leads stagnant gameplay as im just afk in my own goal

I think the playing field is to big, with goals to close to each other. Sprinting would help to play aggresiv, and then sprint back to your goal. But usually you have to stay in your goal. Maybe less balls to keep track off => Making it possible to know that you can go aggresiv, since there is no ball close to your goal. Maybe way less people, so that everyone knocked out feels like a great achievment. For the sake of the theme you did it like this and it was really fun. So the list above is just for "if you drop the theme" those are things I suggest trying out. Who knows which one of these makes the game the best it can be.

Haha, nice idea. Played well. Fits the theme greatly. The jumping controls were a bit fiddly, but still had a good time. This should really be an addition to Fifa or something similar :P

@NickMarcha It's not magic. They have only two strategies.
1. Run to the next ball => shoot if you're close to it
2. Keep between your goal and the next ball => shoot if you're close to it

And the impossible one: Go in line with the players goal and the ball => shoot if you're close to it

Funny concept. It may need a little more polish in the sound department, and also in player control but the idea is solid. With multiplayer this could be a great game!
