In this game you're a football team (or a soccer team for our American friends), who need to score as many points on the enemies goal.

To do this you use your mouse, the space bar and shift button.

-----Controls-----
* You select a character by clicking on it.

* You can make the character go to where you click, when you end your turn.

* You can also kick the ball by holding shift and clicking where you want to shoot it.

* You automatically grab the ball by running into another character, who has the it.

* When you're ready to end you turn, you press space.

Neat concept. I'd love to see a multiplayer version of this.

I really enjoy the game. I am not sure if it's only me, but when the ball left the field, you can't do anything so the game just stops at that stage. But other than that, I really like the concept. The fact that the screen moves up/down when the cursor reaches the edge of the screen adds really nice touch to it. Good job.

Interesting. It wasn't so hard to make a goal after I understood how the game worked. Congratulations on the game you made on your own!

the arrows kept coming out of the player's starting position instead of their current position and my character wouldn't grab the ball unfortunately :(

I must be doing something wrong because I can't tackle at all. Kudos for making a turn based soccer game, I had a similar idea. And I will never do a sports game for Ludum Dare again!! Because people seem to be actively avoiding playing/rating them :(

Turns out, just walking into the goal with the ball works every time! Why don't they do that at the World Cup?!?

The AI is just good/random enough that every goal needs to be approached a bit differently.
And that time when you do one or two passes and then into the goal feels pretty rewarding!
Also the part where just running after the player from the opposing team with the ball doesn't work is quite real. Well done!

The idea was ok but as said before me, you can simply walk into the goal. The ai was not very good and how were you supposed to pass the ball even though it was not needed to win, but it would have made the game a lot more fun with more mechanics? Some audio would also have been nice.

Good concept! Though it has some bugs on it such as freezing this one time, and sometimes other players in the field aren't movable anymore. With a better AI, this can be an interesting game.

Very neatly done - once I figured out I could walk through enemies that made things easier. I did score on myself like a lame-o though. Really nice compo submission.

Wow. You managed to make an AI playing soccer by yourself in 48 hours. It's not perfect (for example, if I just press space and skip turns it doesn't score) but wow, I'm impressed. Took a sneak peek at your code and it looks really neat. Good job! :)

If you want to keep working on this, I'd like to see some clear indication that I'm carrying the ball with me, as well as a smarter AI.

Nice job, You should check it out the croteam soccer puzzle game.

A really nice idea! A good fit for the theme. It would be great to see this expanded on further, maybe with a 2-player mode! I found it a little difficult to track where the ball would be after all my team had moved, but that's where the skill for the game comes into play! A nice solid title for LD. Keep making games!
