The Ultimate Magic Duelling Tournament VR

Enter the Ultimate Magic Duelling League and fight in epic VR matches.

Basic game information

Did you think table tennis or fencing are the best duelling sports ever made? THINK AGAIN! We created a mash-up between a classic dueling sport and an action magician spell casting experience - in VR! Duel against a mighty foe (sponsored by _Atlantis magiclines™_) with using your hands only. Cast different spells by drawing different symbols and swing up or down for defense or attack! Defend water attack by fire, fire attack by water and earth attack by earth!

Controls

As was already said, you cast spells by drawing specific symbols with your hands. The symbols are Triangle, Circle and Diamond for Earth, Water and Fire spells, respectively. You can use two VR controllers at the same time, so you can actually cast a protecting spell while casting attacking spell, AT THE SAME TIME! However, the two-hand coordination can get tricky.

Tutorial

Yes! This game contains tutorial. You need to finish all the steps (basically casting all available spells in the game) before the might foe appears and starts attacking you - try to beat his score!

How we made this game!

We used SteamVR plugin for Unity, some free assets, and a lot of math to detect which pattern you're trying to cast.

Q/A

Q: Is this game awesome?
A: DAMN STRAIGHT IT IS!

Q: How long did it took you to make this demo?
A: Something like 2 days of work.

Q: Is this game VR only?
A: Yes. We tested only Vive, so Oculus may not work properly (though it should!)

Q: How do you feel about unicorns?
A: They're awesome!

Closing thoughts

This game is still in beta, so play at your own risk! We'd be happy to hear any and all feedback! We plan to work more on this game, adding different types of enemies, arenas and a Tournament mode where you play for your favorite spell casting team against other spell casting teams, working through the bracket. Ultimate goal is a Steam release, though that's far away.
