As the robot, you must aid the towers while they defend themselves from waves of bombs.
Use your flirting and gifting abilities to empower the tower.
A short how-to on the game:
Bombs will spawn and attack the towers. The towers will try to defend themselves but you need to help them. There are two ways to do this:
1. Flirt with them to give them health regen 2. Give them a gift they like to level up their stats
There's a bit of a complicated gifting system, so I'll explain it a bit:
Bombs will drop gifts when they're destroyed and you can pick them up and give these to the turrets. Turrets have likes/dislikes when it comes to gifts tho! These likes/dislikes are randomly chosen at the start of Wave 1 but the particle effects you see when giving a gift will let you know how the tower reacts to that gift
- yellow particle effect means they accepted your gift and they got a small stat boost - green particle effect means that you gave them their favorite gift, so they'll get a bigger stat boost - red particle effect means you gave them the gift they hate, so they actually loose stats
There are four gift possibilities (chocolate, flowers, gem and wine) and each turret will have a unique like or dislike for one these items. These being unique also means that once you find what item a tower likes (e.g. say you know one tower super-likes chocolate) then you're also one step closer to knowing what gifts the other towers like (the other towers each like something that isn't chocolate)
Great graphics, and an awesome mashup of genres. Are there any clues besides trial and error for discovering the right gifts? My first play, it seemed to be based on the color of the tower's dress accessories, but this didn't seem to hold up in my second play.
@smiling-cat-entertainment No, their likes/dislikes are randomly generated at the start of wave 1. You kinda just need a bit of luck at the start, to figure them out quickly.
Their likes are unique tho, so if one turret super-likes chocolate (you'll see a green particle effect), then you know the other turrets must super-like a different item. This is the same for dislikes.
I like the concept of this one a lot, and the 3D models look pretty decent! It would be nice if there was some sort of visual indication of which gifts the towers like, and the character moved pretty slow, but other than that I had fun :)
Great game even if it is a little simple. Fits the theme well and has a very cute art style that stands out. As others have said movement speed is a little bit too slow and the game feels a little bit too hard.
Love the odd combination of genres. Gameplay feels a bit clunky though, wish the robot was a bit faster. Maybe an overview of how each towers healthbar is doing would be good. Difficulty could have been a bit lower, as it's quite hard. Models looks good.
This game is super underrated, I feel like the theme for this year's LD was really on display here! Clean, modern graphics, a great sense of humor, and really going at the theme gets high marks from me!
P.S. Is it possible to get past wave 4? I die there every time lol
