Blow the Hen Down

The absurdity and the universe made me think of the Monkey Island games. I love the idea, it's well done, it's great to be able to use cannons and bombs, and throwing chicken is just funny at all :D

Sea of thieves watch out! This was so fun! Short and sweet. Just a crazy and fun game, nothing to fancy just a bunch of chickens and explosions. Loved the feeling of trying to manage all of the chickens and finding out they had a little nest in the back. Fast and exiting.

This was fun. I laughed out loud. Didn't know this will happen to me but this is what I wanted. Shooting out chickens of a ship with cannons while a pirate captain yells funny sh*t, and fitting music plays.

Really nice game! The mood is just perfect.
That feeling when I first managed to clean out the lower deck just to go up and find houndreds of more chickens.
And then the moment I finally realised I can just drop the bombs.
Graphics and music match the feeling as well. I'm really impressed!

It's incredibly funny to try to get rid of these hen, only to find out there's like a thousand of them in a place you haven't been before. Anyway, great job!

This game was so much fun, and highly addictive! The graphics for being made in 72 hours was amazing. The gameplay, however, felt a bit unbalanced and like there was no way to actually beat the game. Would also have liked some sort of way to know how many hens I blasted from the cannons! But great job!

Very nice game! It plays very well from start to end. Not much bugs or hickups.
Good and short storytelling, the objective of the game was very clear.
I loved how you could shoot chicken in the cannons (for no real good reason :p).
Only bug I found was some chickens were glitched behind the captain, and seemd to respawn everytime i threw them overboard.
I did manage to kill them with a bomb and finish the game tho.

Fun to play, if you add some more variants of hens you will get proper full game. Nice music and whole world feels authentic. I was really on pirate ship and I was loading hens into a cannons. ... ... Yeah a feel a really did that :D

Wow this is great!

My first try went catastrophically, but the second time around I knew exactly what to do and won pretty much instantly. The trick is to quickly load up all cannons and spam bombs right away so exponential growth doesn't kick in.

I could totally see this working as a minigame in a fully fleshed-out whimsical pirate game.

Wow this was really polished. Love the graphics, animation and voice acting. Music also worked very well. Great game! Poor chickens..

I had loads of fun firing chickens and really love the graphics. This game fits well to the theme and feels great. I love the whole concept and am impressed with what you got done in this small space of time. 5 from me :)

Awesome. Really polished jam game.

Perfect flow. First you try to throw he hens out only for them to fly back in, then you shoot them out with a cannon, but they just keep coming until you realize you can just blow them all up with the cannon balls. I wish there was a win condition, but great and silly game regardless :)

Very fun little game. I beat it on my first attempt, though I did have the deck almost completely overrun at one point. I love the use of the theme and the humor. The only criticism I have is the constant voice barks got old after a little while, I wish they came at a slower rate. Everything else was fantastic!

That was a really funny game xD I really like the idea, simple but effective. I found no bugs, its just frustrating that you have no way to know how many chickens are left on the boat, but I guess that's part of the surprise. Yarrrrrr!

This was so fun! I managed to play through once without realising I could just bomb the chickens, then I decided to do that, round up any survivors and fire them out the sides. I'm not quite sure how I ended up with chickens back on the poop deck, as there weren't any eggs up there after I cleared it out, but oh well :grin:

Hey saw your game on the channel of RandomizeUser, it's a very fun(ny) game haha, I love putting chickens in the cannon because it's so funny, even though that's possibly the slowest way to get rid of them. And the chicken spawns like crazy LMAO. Did anyone clean all of the chickens? LOL. Great entry though, I had some really good laughs. 5 for humor. GJ!

This game was absolutly amazing! Critizism on a very high level: Maybe add some indicator how many chickens are on the ship and how many have been thrown off the ship. Other than that, almost perfect entry!

But, even bigger thanks for making this game, oh my gosh this is wonderful hahaha. Perfect fun execution, I love it. The "speed run" video is great too!

Also, props on being one of the only Unity games that both lets me select a resolution AND has a UI that properly fits different aspect ratios. That's way more rare on LD than it should be, haha.

Decently fun little entry! Graphics are pretty solid, audio is good, the idea works, and it fits in well enough with the theme. No major nitpicks - my only complaint is that on the highest graphics quality (Yarrrr, I believe) in Linux, the shaders seem to have a general freak-out.

This game was great. I really enjoyed the artwork and the gameplay. The intro narrator doesn't sound enough like a pirate but it doesn't matter.

Great game, I'm impressed with the production value, the music, the graphics, the SFX, it all fits perfectly and gives a great atmosphere to the game. It'd be great if the game could show the progression in some way, it'd give a sense of immediate reward to the player. Also, that'd be great to have more mechanics, maybe with the eggs (or maybe there is one and I haven't found it) or with other part of the ships. But of course, that'd be for a post compo version and what you've accomplished in such short time is already astonishing. Congrats!

Really really fun! If I had one complaint, it would be that it wasn't very clear to me that the chickens flew back if you threw them overboard. The first time I played, I was frantically throwing them overboard without realizing they were coming back. Once I figured it out, there were too many and I had to restart in order to beat it on my second try.

My favourite game in the Jam! I always thought we need more games with humor like this, it made me smile a lot :)
