Game entry for LD 42 : Running out of space.Made using MMF2.5, FL studio and sfxr. I missed the previous event, feels good to come back.
I made this game in 5 non-stop hours.Damn.To be honest,I didn't test this game very thoroughly...I hope there's no glitches... If there IS,please let me know.
Including cute character and several game modes!
How 2 play: Arrow key to move, Z to shoot bullet.Waiting for the power gauge to fill will allow you to shoot a powerful charge shot!
Gimmick: When the enemy shoots the black bullet, it will turn the tile black.If you step on the black tile, your moving speed will be lowered.Dodging enemie's bullets is very difficult in this situation.However, once you defeat an enemy, the explosion caused by its death will turn the blackened tile back to white again. You are running out of space! Tips:The normal enemy will always run towards you after hitting the wall.You can try the manipulate their movement by using this property!
Hard mode: Pretty much the same as the normal mode, but once you stepped on the black tile, you'll also suffer from constant HP loss...making it VERY difficult.
Pacifist mode: You can't attack, the enemy won't respawn...just survive as long as you can.
God mode: Infinite charge shot, black tile barely slows you down...the boss might be stronger, but it's not a problem in this mode.You also have 5 times the HP. However, there's no score in this mode. This is what you get for playing the CAT GOD.

Nice art you got there, and the Pacifist Mode was an unexpected surprise, another surprise, that is some insane speed you finished this game up at Σ(･口･)! *speechless*
I did better in Pacifist Mode then normal for some reason, yeah and the kitty was disappointed in me and in normal I made it cry, hehe
But other then the above I think you had a great take on the theme, the art was cute (cutie kitty cat boxes), the sfx was fitting and music was superb and the one in Hard made it exiting. The music really set the mood. I found the best part of the game to be the sound/music. Great work, looking forward to see what you make in the future :)
Great game, but I feel like pacifist mode quickly very hard because you can't regenerate the white tile so you end up stuck in the black ones (I don't know if it's intended or if I'm missing a gameplay element ?)
I would be nice for a sound effect when your recharged and the movement seemed way to slippery hard to stay on the white tiles. Other than that I had fun playing it and it had nice music.
hey, thanks for your game, it was fun! i like that you included several modes. and the music is very fitting. it would be nice to animate the boss sprite somehow so that you know if you hit it or not.
Awesome little game! It was really fun and hat a lit of different options! (I only tried one though) It was a very interesting concept! One thing I will mention is that when fighting the boss, I couldn't tell if or when I was damaging it. Maybe give the boss a healthbar to make that a little more clear. Also, at times it felt a little unfair, I tried hitting enemies but it wouldn't register. Overall, you did a great job!
P.S. Sorry I took a little while to get to your game! I try to grade and leave feedback on all of my commenters' games. The only exception to this is if the concept doesn't interest me (but really 1st person horror is the only thing that doesn't interest me), or if I simply can't get it to work. At first I thought I already played your game, and when I realized I didn't, I went to download it but my computer wouldn't let me play it for some reason. Once I got all that worked out I was able to get it to run and grade it. It took a little longer than I thought though. Sorry about that!
@purrfexionator the enemy hp grows stronger every 1 minutes(indicated by the"difficulty up" notification),which will need more than one charge shot to defeat,making it looks like it wasn't registered(I guess?But I should make the notification more clear tho.Thanks for sharing that!)
Not bad at all, although I feel like the gimmick hurts the gameplay more than anything, having movement speed change so suddenly as you move from black to white or vice versa throws my dodge off at least. the music is very nice
Really cool game. I'm also really digging this really cute art style. Really wish I had more control of where to shoot like if it shot towards my mouse. Overall, really great compo game.
Cats are cute! Music is great and fit the game very well. The mechanics are interesting too. The game is great fun. Hope you can keep on making it more complex! Great job!
Cute art and fantastic music. I found the movement controls a little bit too floaty, and it was quite hard to direct shots. Other than that, a very enjoyable game!
