Solar Engulfment is a 2D Endless sidescroller, your mission is to rescue colonies from the forever expanse of the sun.
NOTE: Due to 2 failed ideas, this game was made in the 1 day span of the 3 day span for Jam, if I had more time, I would have loved to add more to it, but I've managed to just add basic functionality to it.
Controls: WASD or arrow keys to move spacecraft
Installing:
Download the zip file for your operating system and extract the file to your desktop and: - Windows: : Run the executable - Linux: Go to the properties of the .x86_64 file and check the box "Run as executable" and run the game. - *If it says the game has crashed/stopped, just click wait* - MacOS: Run the .app file
If you somehow cannot get the game to run, I have ported the game to web so that you can enjoy at your own leisure

I have all assets and code up on GitLab in case other people may want to either experiment with how I created this sidescroller or want to create a clone, or maybe continue its development!
I wouldn't worry about your ideas not turning out as you'd hoped, Game Jam's are a time for unbridled experimentation! It's impressive you managed to produce a coherent and enjoyable game given the setbacks.
The gameplay is solid and the UI is very clear. At least, you have finished the game! I hope next time I could see you bring your idea into a great game!
