Hey @kostbllb I think you used love2D to make this game right? You may need to put the file inside of the love application for most people to be able to run this properly or add Love2d to what the players may need to download for this to run properly. Note to anyone reading, download Love2D to play this game.
I wasn't too sure what to do in your game. I moved the characters around the screen and green and yellow squares would appear. The yellow squares hurt you and the more one character moved the more yellow appeared on the other side. It seemed like it could be a very interesting game with a bit more work on it after Ludum Dare is done.
We didn't understand the game at the beginning.The we got it. The idea is nice. The music is great. The graphics could be better. In general is a fun local multiplayer game :D
It feels really unique, as others I didn't understand the game at first, maybe you could include a simple tutorial. I played it alone at first, but it's really interesting, even more when you're playing Vampire the masquerade
Oddly charming. This would be really great with networking but I totally get that's not easy to pull off in a game jam. Cool interpretation of the theme.
The idea you were going for is - in my opinion - a good one however the execution was lacking in certain areas. For example a tutorial to explain what is happening in the game would be a good edition. Furthermore, the music could have been more directed towards actual game music instead of church bells (but i get you were going for a Vampire setting.) The smoothness of the character movement is nice and the simplistic nature of the game was good. The graphics could have been improved slightly and if you could directly hinder your opponent even more then i think the game would become more fast paced. For example, if you could get a pickup in the middle of a yellow patch - to take health off you to gain an advantage on your opponent. The pickup could do something like make half the remaining area of the opponents turn yellow. Overall a decent upload.
