> Alone on a landmass, you wake up next to a beach. Bleeding out. Without conventional medicine available, you turn to more.. questionable.. means of survival.
Brink is a survival game where anything you do comes with a cost: your life. As time progresses, the environment around you increases in hostility for no logical reason other than it makes gameplay more interesting :wink:
The standard map is split up into multiple altitude-based sections such as the beaches, the mountain-tops and the underwater platforms. Due to map sizes, not all maps will contain all regions; restarting the game will regenerate a new map for you. _(Alternatively, activate the development console with the backtick key and restart the world with `gs.start()`)_
In-game help is available by pressing `h`. The two undocumented keys are the grave to toggle the development console and F11 to toggle fullscreen.
Note: Just because the game has tiles doesn't mean it's "minecraft-esque" as a load of people have said. In fact, Minecraft was used a whole lot of "not at all" in the design and dev.
Before I balanced a few things, I let 8th play around. Needless to say, things have since been balanced significantly.

And now for a mandatory screenshot because who doesn't love screenshots
Yeah.. I think the other one captures actual gameplay a little better :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
* Programming: Bottersnike

_If you're on \*nix, it's worth giving the README a once-over to make sure you have the python modules._
How long can you survive at the _brink_ of death?
