Demi Quest is a (nonfiction) narrative game inspired by Depression Quest.

It illustrates the difficulties of demisexuals to lead meaningful relationships that grow up to the level required for them to become physically intimate; together with the frustrations of allosexuals ("normal sexuals") that require or expect physical intimacy to build more emotional attachment in the first place.

How to Play
---------
Object of the game is to achieve a mutual, consensual relationship that is both emotionally and physically rewarding.

You can sacrifice some of your physical or emotional integrity in order to save your relationship in this game. This can go terribly wrong but sometimes buys you the time you need.

You may also sacrifice a friendship or two for the sake of love if you are metal enough.

If you don't like your character, restart the game. They are randomly generated.

This is the first game we made with Ren'Py. Originally we commenced development at the Identity Game Jam (which coincided with Ludum Dare Saturday), using Ink, which proved too fiddly in terms of logic and flow control.

Content Warning
------------
* situations of problematic consent
* abstract sexual themes in text

Known issues
--------
The game doesn't manage to establish a stable core loop. That means you can experience some situations, but probably will encounter bugs or contradicting signals. Well. That's actually a feature...

Graphics and Music
----------
As the graphics are based on stock images and worked over with style transfer filters, we opt out of the graphics rating. The music is from a licensed Music library.
