It's just another day for the village shaman. Help the villagers make sacrifices before you incur the Wrath Of The Gods!

Ritual Companion Guide download

Prepare the Sacrifices

- Listen to villager requests
- Boil ingredients to match the ink color with their prayer type
- Grab a sacrifice (doll, bird, cat, or even goat!)
- Draw their god's symbol
- Return the object and pray the gods will be please

Shaman Hut Features:

- Bowl: Holds all your ingredients at once!
- Fire: Boil ingredients to concoct a new ink!
- Fountain: Need a new color? Wash the old one away!

Controls:

- Click and hold to lift objects. Release to drop the object on the table or villager.
- Release the pen on the bowl liquid to change its color. Then click a sacrifice to draw
- Draw symbols by click and holding
- Esc: Menu (useful if the book gets knocked away...)

- Controls: hover over the bowl to change pen color, objects in bowl easier to take out
- Villagers: enter through door, stay until given a sacrifice, satisfy 10 to win the game
- Ritual Book: less words, fixed phantom first and last pages
- Resolution: changed from 640x514 :sob: to 1280x960

Sorry to be dense but I can't figure out how or where to write the symbols. Please explain the mechanics a bit more clearly. Also if you accidentally drop an item on the book it knocks it out of view. I'm bothering to comment because I really like the idea and look of the game and I want to be able to play it properly.

@fizzhog Hold onto the pen, and release it onto a sacrifice (doll, bird, cat, or goat). You can also release it on the bowl to change colors, which you then click on a sacrifice afterwards.

The sacrifice should move to the camera, and you'll be given a window to draw in. Draw a symbol from the book, and when you click Return, a gold symbol will appear to confirm your pattern. If no gold, you can try again on the same sacrifice.

Okay. I get it now. I had fun. I was terrible at it, the clumsiest shaman in the village's history. I think I'll be coming back to this and playing it again - which is not something you think often when playing games made in short gamejams. I can see that it is a game where you would get better over time. I suppose it's somewhat akin to a game such as Surgeon Simulator or Octodad? With some variety in the gameplay I could imagine this being popular. Only annoyance is the problem I mentioned with the book disappearing. Fun game - thanks for making it.

This is amazing, so good. Cook serve delicious meets surgeon simulator meets magicka. I wish I were better at it. I'll probably come back and play more later...

It's an interesting idea, but the controls and UI need some work. I think the symbols and recipes need to be permanently listed somewhere. I was really lost on how to sacrifice an animal until the end. I also think the people with requests come and go too quick. Maybe they could speed up later? I do like the idea of the drawing symbols mechanic, but I didn't get a chance to try it out much. Overall, still a lot of polish needed, but a neat and ambitious idea.

I'm pretty bad at this game lol. I got the hang of it after a couple of tries but it took a while. I think if the game had more polish, it will be much better. Overall I had fun with this game. Great job!
