One man one soul, one cat...9 souls!

Souls acquisitions haven't been going very well lately

Until The Devil's cat, Zoltan, has a brilliant idea!

Since cats have 9 lives, it's 9 times more efficient buying their souls!

Now Zoltan needs to find the most evil cats on Earth.

Drag the cats to hell and put them to the test!

win the different minigames and fill the hell with cats.

About the Team

This is our second jam. Our first one was on LD38.
We really wanted to make everything from scratch and we did the impossible to produce every asset and code in these 3 days, even if this is a jam.

We were a bit scared by the theme at first but then we were much more scared when we met Zoltan!

@zarkonnen thank you so much! These makes me happy because it's the first time I try something as anmating all those cats! You are right! The puke game instructions are not very clear. You have to click on the cat to make him vomit , while he is close to the area. The lag is dued to the specifica cat score in precision.

First, the art and music is amazing! The game is very funny and original.
The mini-games themselves were a bit easy, and I didn't really see a point to the cat-stats (You could just hold mouse on cat-litter to get max score / foot scratch was similarly easy to beat).
Game explanations and score screen would have added a nice touch, but weren't sorely missed.

The intro video was amazing, added a lot of context and made the game stand out from a lot of others.

An excellent take on the theme, probably the hardest part of this LD :P
It looks like there was some kind of blur effect when the camera moved sometimes. How do you do that in Unity?

@scott-steffes thank you! You are right, the theme was just impossible XD. The motion blur effect is actually made in aftereffects, but If I had mo make it inside unity 2d, in this case I would have probably used a quick camera movement on a sprite that was already treated with a motion blur effect in its central part.

@furtive-pygmy Yeah, the idea is indeed to have cats performing very differently based on stats; I think you can see a real difference with an _Agility 1_ cat in the scratch game, and in the Carpet Fun one. I will fix and do a little balancing on them later in the week!

In all seriousness, very fun game, the minigames were a bit of a weak point, being too easy, but I had a great time! Made me realize how badly I want a WarioWare game where all the minigames are cats being buttholes.

Methinks your game might be a little bugged? I could never get past owning 1 cat. After I finish the first mini game, I'm not able to click on any other cats to recruit them. :(

Regardless, I closed and opened the game a bunch to make sure I saw all of the minigames. :) I love the art style here, and the games remind me a lot of WarioWare-style micro games. Wish they were a bit challenging, but I imagine time was tight just to get this in. Well done, either way!

Well Done Zoltan! I enjoyed playing through this. A lot of creativity, keeping it interesting for the entire playthrough. The graphics were cute and the silly story made me smile. It wasn't clear to me if the stats of an individual cat made a game easier or harder, but I had fun even if I didn't understand all the mechanics. Good entry :smiley_cat:

Pretty fun and funny. My favorite is the cat pose whilst you are examining their skill traits. There is some nice UI work here. Easy to follow instructions.

The puking and evil internet usage mechanics wasn't exactly intuitive, but still fun. Overall great entry I've had a good time with it. Also the music in the city scene is awesome.

Had a lot of fun with this. Loved the kitties plus all the minigames were varied and interesting. Also loved the music, very catchy.

I can't get the hang of Carpet fun though. I seem to puke exactly where it tells me to but it still tells me I'm doing it wrong.

That was a really creative entry. I loved the idea behind the mini-games and the funny intro. Impressive how you guys created all the art/music/etc. in 3 days!

I felt that the controls were a bit laggy and unclear. I had a hard time figuring out how to continue past the minigame selector the first time around, for example.

Overall I think it's a solid and funny game. Good work!

@limejuice123 Yeah, the idea is that you have to puke before the cat stops, obviously only I know that as I wrote the code for that!

@spotted-metal You're right about the unclearness of the minigame selector, the white box @tommyflower put on the selector clearly invites you to click there but it does nothing :x: I'll just add some behaviour to that zone because a lot of people tries to click in that region. Do the lagginess you refer to also apply to the minigames? We'd love some feedback!
