ABOUT

In Drifter Mall, well... you are homeless... in a mall with a shopping cart and you have to bump into the shelves to fill your cart with the various products to steal and sell them. You start with nothing (Well... your pants, we dont want to get banned :confounded: ), and you have to try to rise from the bottoms of the society to at least gain some clothes.

HOW TO PLAY

Control the kart with WASD, and drive through all the shop bumping with the shelves trying to catch the products flying. Good luck cathing the bats, its the expensive one. With 100$ you can exit the shop (Go to the door) and upgrade yourself, you will have a random piece of cloth, try to get fully dressed.

This is our first game jam ever, for every member of the team, and the first time in a Ludum Dare, we are very proud about the result and for joining the community, AND PLEASE, feel fre to give us any feedback you want, also the bugs :)

Its was quite fun bumping into the shelves. The cops didnt pose too much of a threat. The graphics look great :)

I was constantly avoiding the police and football players but when I accidentally run into them they just died. Didn't expect that to happen. Very nice graphics though.

A super weird and a super funny little game. Love the music and atmosphere. I had a small issue when I upgraded, I begin to hear some overlapping background music. Overall is this a very funny jam game. Well done.

The shopping idea was really innovative. The game just lacks a little more challenge, since the cops is easy to avoid. But it is a kinda fun game, it was a nice touch see the homeless evolving while you shop! Really well done and congrats!

Love this… The graphics give me vibes of Radical Heights haha. Maybe make the attacks of the cops or football players more frequent though, since they aren't that challenging to face

I like the humour of the game and the idea gave me a good chuckle while I was playing through it. However I feel the controls could feel less slippy and the enemies could be a bit more difficult. A pretty good idea though, would like to see what it would be like if there was more time in the Jam :).

The quantity of art assets is impressive for such a short amount of time. Great variety in the visual look of the models in the Catalog and game. I would love to hear more sound effects for the collisions since the gameplay revolves around crashing into everything you can see.

Super fun little game! Awesome graphics / 3d modeling / animation / texturing, super impressive for a jam. Colliders were sometimes a bit funky but otherwise just a lot of fun altogether :) Oh and awesome job on the elevator music!

That was so fun! I felt like the enemies collapsed in front of me no matter what, even if I was standing still. Also, tapping Left/Right while holding Forwards along a line of shelves gets so much loot so fast

Fun game) I fully upgraded my bro but he is still homeless)) think cops should be more dangerousm to make it harder to get all the goods. This would add some excitement to the game.

Cool! The graphics are nice, and so are the animations. I really liked the football-player, why the hell was he there!?!?! I'm not sure what the baseball bats did, and after buying clothes, the music started playing over the already playing music so that was a bit messy. Overall very funny and well done!

Great concept albeit maybe too easy like some people say, but please consider doing a HTML5 WebGL build for accessibility. There are hundreds if not thousands of games to play and it'd really help you on the exposure!

Nice graphics and sounds! The concept is funny (I'm not very neutral since my game is based on a similar idea :D). I like the cart that fills automatically as shoplifting occurs. The gameplay needs more polishing (for example, the camera is way too fast for me), and the game could benefit from challenging enemies and some level design (for exemple, places to hide from the cops). Congratulations btw ;)

Very fun game! The controls were a bit weird in the beginning but I guess that's to be expected of a shopping cart :D Would have been nice if the cart got emptied and the guards got up again when you bought some clothes. This way it was a bit easy once the enemies were knocked out. Also I discovered that I could just grind along the shelves and collect loads of money without having to fiddle with the bats (which were flying all over the place). Really loved the animations and just causing mayhem in a store :)

I see that this is your guys first Ludum Dare and first game jam so congratulations on getting out a finished product! Definitely keep doing it. My team did our first jam together about two years ago and it's such a great experience to hang with your friends and crank something out. Overall I think you guys did a pretty good job. As other people have said, the colliders on a few things like the shelves are a bit wonky. Also I wouldn't put the "Exit" button in the upgrade section. I learned not to press it after it closed the game once but when people see an exit button they tend to go straight to that to get out of a menu. I would instead put that in a different menu, say if you hit escape to pause it, then give people an option to exit. Animations were pretty good. The model on the title screen had some geometry issues and here was a bit of clipping on the cops clothing but again this is just a jam so things like that can happen. Just means you can do better next time! Good job guys!
