An attempt at a game design I made before, this time with a more cell-city-driven builder idea.
The number keys will change what you are building, and holding spacebar will feed a new cell or build up an existing one. The intent was to make a bit of a 'tower defense/enemy waves' type game.
It didn't quite get there, but the building and grabbing aspect feels a lot of fun. I want to work on making the game visually more fun to play.
There was no time for set win conditions, but the intention was to make a fun little environment that you would build-up and grow.
My partner, nitacku, is responsible for any music that comes together.
*
While I was able to get a lot done, there was a lot of problems in using pixi and adapting old work into this one.
Nitacku had trouble with inspiration for the music, and I was constantly bogged down quashing bugs that messed with the integrity of the game (like spawning a dozen waves at once).
Because I got a lot done, I want to share and see the opinions of a post-jam version of this to get real feedback. I will post that and share as soon as I am able.
