Island Survivor

Fun crafting-survival game. I survived a few nights. I've noticed that mouse scroll works for swapping inventory too when you click on it.
For me, it would feel best if I could cycle between items with Q and E for example and use with F.

The game gets a little boring after a while, but that's understandable given the time constraints. This is a very solid prototype that I can see getting made into a small game.

I liked your sound and graphics, I wish you could press a button to advance text faster in the beginning. My first play through I completely missed the craft button because it blended with the bottom bar, I also didn't expect having to click on it since the rest of the game is controlled with the keyboard.

A very nice game, really like the art. I did find a few bugs, such as the player going in front of trees, and also the ability to walk on water. But overall a good entry, well done.

Very impressive! controls took a little time to get used to, and I think trees and water should have colliders on them. I really enjoyed playing it and was able to sail off into the sunset with a zombie friend :)

Fun to play! I had to play it all through and win the game. :) It was just enough material to gather. Had it been more it would have been boring, but this was perfect. Funny thing is, a zombie sailed away with me on the raft in the end! :D

Rope-Plants are pretty scarce in some areas, don't know whether this is intended, but it forces you to explore the world quite a bit until you have enough (can be good or bad). Also the tree-chop sound is not very noticable and a clearer indication whether you are hitting something or not could be helpful, especially when trying the first time and not being sure, whether you are doing it right.

All in all the gameplay was pretty fun :)

I also loved the aesthetics and the sword animation slicing through the player like a hot knife through butter would have gained you some stars in humor, if you had opted into this category.

Yes! What a lovely wee game. Crafting is always a compelling primary loop for me and this scratched the itch. Short and sweet with lovely graphics. Clear, cohesive story. One of the best I've played so far! :)

I am truly surprised how this got me. As you mentioned it is a short survival game, but it got me in and I wasn't able to stop till I created the raft and left the Island! Really great work! I can see this easily to turn into something bigger. Thank you for this nice experience.

Cool game! I really liked the graphics and gameplay. But there are difficulties with switching between objects, because it is not clear which numbers you need to click to get the right one. And the trees are cut down with 5 attempts. But despite this, it turned out very well!

Cool little survival game, I like the graphics and the sword attack animation is just the best. Great job!

Great game ! UI & gameplay are nice, and the (I assume to be) generated world is convinient :), the only bad point is when you pick 2 or 3 item at once, the pickup sound is played very high xD

Great game! I think some background ambience music or something would have gone a long way for immersion, but other than that a solid game! :smile:

Well made survival crafting game! Controls were simple and intuitve and the graphics worked well for this kind of game.

My biggest complaint is probably the lack of music in-game, that would have improved the mood a lot!

Very nice and simple yet fun survival game. I think some things that could help to improve it would be music and more feedback when chopping down trees. When i first began playing I had a hard time telling if i was chopping them down correctly.

This was really playable! I was hooked until I built a raft. One minor thing I did like was setting the background of your itch.io page to the sea texture used in-game -- that worked really well to make it feel like the ocean did stretch out in every direction :)

Cool game, not so innovative, but sticks to the theme. I like the thing that zombies are coming during night :) I just miss some more feedback when chopping trees, it took me a while to discover how to do it.

Very interesting little survival game. I would fix walking on water. Zombies also spawn on water. Sometimes sprites will be in front of trees. Great job!

The character can walk on trees, bushes, water. Bushes can stand on a tree. The interface is not convenient, if you throw away the last thing, the icon remains although there is no thing. The game is very easy and takes a couple of minutes. Although it seems like sprites are beautiful, the island itself is not interesting and tedious

Why should I build a raft when I can walk on a water and be faster than raft ? :D
Graphics are nice, day night cycle too. You can abuse spawn rates. Overall good game.

Love the pixelart! Since weeds are such a demanded resource in this game, I was running around, worried about zombies, hunger, warmth - that was very exciting. That being said, not being able to fight zombies and craft at the same time, or reducing the food resources would make this game more thrilling.
I picked up the fireplace by mistake several times, maybe there could have been a different key for that or maybe player shouldn't be allowed to pick it up, adding more difficulty. I got the raft built after the first night, but I'd love to play an extended version of this game.

Here is a list of bugs I stumbled upon:

* You can walk on trees & water
* Sometimes objects can spawn on trees (see screenshot below)
* You can't fight monsters near a bonfire, because then you pick it up
* When the item's count goes to 0, I think it should be deleted because otherwise it's just taking up space in the inventory
