kinda of post-mortem?

I wasnt actually expecting to spend almost the whole duration of the Jam with my team, but guess what? We actually did.
We worked, we ate and we slept in the same house. This made me think of how time actually passes by quickly if you are feeling safe, if you're having fun... and if you have a deadline. Specially if you have a deadline.

On the first day I had two college exams, got home exausted, slept, woke up and boom: saturday, sunday and monday with the boys. Literally me and the boys at 3 AM looking for strength to come up with more ideas.

Even though the final project that we sent for the JAM wasn't the way we wanted it to be, the basics are there, so this JAM is more of a showcase of the exponential growth we had as a team and game devs. From 2017, LDJAM 38, which was our first project and how we had great ideas and had to cut everything out to get a game published in time, a lack of division between us and what everyone in the group was supposed to do and the final result being an ok thing which beaten us down a bit. We now know it was cause we had no idea what we were doing.

Almost 3 years later, even with each of us dealing with our personal adult lives and still managing to get together, plan things better, actually get the basics out, put priorities in places, getting a short puzzle out that follows the initial idea we had, was a blast of confidence for everyone.

So if anyone wants to see the difference here are the links:

On personal note: AS the deadline came closer, I still had to run to attend to a college exam, which I got there late, didn't have time to look through my annotations beforehand, getting super tired, a little of anxiety thrown in the mix of thoughts that are always in my head, some tears along the way not actually related to the exam or the jam at all. But even though all that happened... I don't think I'd change a thing. Finally feeling like I actually belong and have a place in the group made those 72 hours worth every second.

This LD made me go back to a simpler time, even if it was for a short period, I felt the power of 12 years of friendship moving us through the challenge we put ourselves in.

We are already thinking about the next JAM, and reviving our old forgotten projects.

So yolo i think
