This was our first time trying Ludum Dare, was very fun, but I wish I had prepared a bit better and laid out a better plan ahead so we could finish on time, anyway, live and learn.
Our game *Barclay and the Wrong Dimension* unfortunately could not be finished. But at least I'll tell you what it was about.
Our main character _Barclay_ wakes up to find himself in a very strange place, with only one device that somebody put in his pocket. This device is extremely important because it can do a lot of things, but unfortunately its battery is damaged and it drains energy every 1.5 seconds.
There are several small crystals around the world, which can be used to recharge the battery quickly, and the main goal is to leave this strange place by using all the "transition crystals" to eventually find an exit. Those transition crystals are very large and are used to teleport yourself to a new location.
Along the path several enemies will be found, puzzles, and also upgrades for your device, eventually the device was going to be so strong that it could teleport yourself, attack enemies remotely, activate a cloak, find secrets and many more!
We're going to continue to develop it though, to make it what we imagined it would be. ♥
Was certainly a very fun experience for both of us. Will definitely do this again.
