Our game is called "Bébert and Gertrude against the Aliens". It sounds better in French... I think. So Bébert is the sheep, Gertude the farmer, and you need to keep the sheep alive. Fits the theme, right ? Well, I was not really inspired.
So you can play with mouse/keyboard or gamepad, your choice. I added gamepad controls at last minute, so apologies if everything does not work perfectly. Oh, and remember to turn up the sound, we have lovely mouth-made sound effects for you !

mmmm 140 mb. This game jam I made a Gameboy game that is 60kb but the average game now a days is 140mb = 140000kb. So you are saying that the avarage game size grew by 140000 / 60 = 2300 times in the past 20 years? Well apparently that is the case. Even tho, nice game. I hope all of you have enjoyed making it.

J'aime beaucoup le style SD des graphismes et les bruitages valent en effet leur pesant de cacahuètes ^^ Le mouton est peut être un peu trop une tête de mule et on peut le blesser trop facilement en essayant de le protéger. Mais vous pouvez être fier du résultat !
Absolutely loved your game! Aliens, Zombies and Sheeps, what more could I've asked for? :) It would be nice to have an item that cures the sheep sometimes.
XD Humor 5 just for that loading screen lol. And innovative use of a loading screen too, to get all the important information outbefore the game starts instead of boring everyone out with information during the play, but in my browser the game indeed froze at the loading screen unfortunately. Ohhh ok it loaded finally. Funniest game so far love the audio, the musi reminded me of shaun he sheep. Good artwork good smooth gameplay overall just a round thing well done!
Very fun game! Love the idea and sound effects! The controls were a bit tricky for me, so I could only survive for a few waves (sorry, Bebert.... xD). Good work!
@syudzius thanks ! You may prefer the arrow keys or a gamepad to control your character, it's a bit easier. Best advice I can give you to survive longer is to always control Bebert position. Make sure it is always close to the center and close to you, using carrots and kicks in the butt if needed !
I started playing with mouse and keyboard, but I after I lost on wave 2, I switched to gamepad. Despite being last minute the gamepad controls are MUCH easier to use and more enjoyable. Nice game!
The loading screen might be broken sometimes on the web version? Also just as a heads up, you might want to opt out of the graphics section if you got your sprites from a marketplace.
Même si je suis contre la maltraitance animal, j'ai pris plaisir à botter les fesses de Bébert le mouton !! Bravo à vous, d'autant plus pour votre première Game Jam. J'ai beaucoup aimé les graphismes et le travail des sons.
Wow very high quality for your first game! The loading screen and the dialogues were quite funny! And the mechanic of kicking the sheep in the butt :) Very good I enjoyed it!
Coincée trois fois sur l'écran de démarrage, jai finalement su rentrer dans le jeux. Graphiquement parlant, top top! Un truc que vous pouvez peut-être ajouter c'est qu'on peut taper avec la touche 1 et que le dynamite est sur la touche 4.. Jai appuyer sur toute les numéros pour voir comment utiliser ca. Je trouve que le mouton peut aussi avoir un petit plus de vie et peut-être pas aller vers les enemies (le jeux termine beaucoup trop rapidement). Voila un petit peu de ce que jai remarqué. Mais en tout BRAVO a toute l'équipe ;)
Sorry for people stuck on loading screen. I cannot reproduce the bug unfortunately, my only advice is to use an up-to-date web browser and be patient :( I tried to compress the images further to save a few MB.
@angel-w actually there is some music ^^ probably too quiet compared to the sound effects, Vincent is louder than Romain
@jorim I hesitated because Fabien worked on many graphical assets during the jam and I thought he deserved to have a rating for that, despite we used external sprites. But he is okay to remove the graphics rating so I did remove it. Props to him !
First: You guys are very funny :). The story of Bebért the intergalatical super crimimal sheep is just creative, the sounds are well made and made me laugh and the game fits the theme. The mechanics are solid (I like the update store). Well done.
It is just a bit slow on Chromium / Ubuntu 18.04 but the problem is most likely on my end, maybe the GPU acceleration does not work properly.
Cute little game, especially for your first gamejam, well done! The graphics and animations are very nice! I thought the idea of the different actions were interesting, however I would balance it a bit more (why would you kick if it takes as long as hitting and makes no damage? Maybe have the kick create a knokback when directed towards the aliens? or is it meant for bebe only?) Also the hitboxes where sometimes a bit frustrating, but with a bit of tweaking you should be able to fix this, nice entry! :)
@fatpenguin thanks for the feedback. Kick is the best action to make Bebert move when you are out of carrots. Also, kicking monsters has 2x knockback and less animation lag than stick attack, but has a lower range as a drawback. Upgrading boots makes kicking knockback even stronger.
Wow, this is such a gem! I LOVE the art style, the animations and the environment. The sound effects are great and funny. I also think that the music fits perfectly, although it vanishes a bit in the background behind all those sound effects.
The gameplay is super interesting, but that stupid sheep does never seem to do what I want :) You did a great introduction and tutorial. I also like the upgrades.
I could not pass wave 5, but it was a great experience.

on the loading screen sometimes no button apears even if the percentage reaches 100. but after a reload it works.
