Beautiful game, love the art style and its really quite touching :) Thought it was super hard at first, then I realised you could just run past the bats and it got a lot easier - crashed when I reached the end though!
The movement and collisions are good. The Art is amazing but is to little content in the game. i finish it to fast and jump over the boss and don't even fight him. Good Job!
I do love the graphics and the whole ambiance of your game. Really impressive for a gamejam. Congrats :) The inertia is perhaps a little bit too strong while jumping with the character.
Loved the art style and the mood of it, the gameplay feels good too, nice job :slight_smile: I can only complain about the foreground being to big on a few places, making it difficult to see and beat ennemies.
Really nice art, game play, and sound. It was a cool journey and fun to play. when playing if going in full screen the game would stay small. Still a nice fun game that could be expanded on!

I was surprised by the key mapping you chose ; usually jumping is on space and attacking on enter. It's not to say that you can't do what you please, obviously, but personally I found it confusing. Also I found the 'boss' to be easier to beat than the smaller enemies. It is bigger, that is to say easier to hit, and his range is smaller (compared to his size) so easier to dodge.
Overall I still think it's a well-made little game and a good entry for a gamejam, I'm just pointing at what I think could be improved for a future project ^^
Nice and short with pretty visuals, my only complaint being that the trees in the foreground make it hard to see what you're trying to hit during combat.
The graphics are so good! That's really nice, there is a peaceful atmosphere thanks to this really grood music. I like it ! Expected something else for the end but it's still good :D

I think the range on that attack is way too small and it's really hard to get close to those enemies without dying (in just 2 hits). And when you die the starting dialog is playing again and it's frustrating to have to go through it.
Fun game! The art was great. The game was so fun I wish it was longer! Though the foreground made the game look better, it did get in the way most of the time. Good game, and keep it up guys!

A very nice environment, and some effective parallax. The music was sparse, but I liked it anyway. I agree with another commenter that the mid-air controls are a little strange, but I did enjoy beating up that giant bat. Nice work!
I may have rushed this a bit, but it let me! I just hold right continuously and tried to hit some bats if they got in the way. I missed every slash but it didn't really matter since I could still keep going. Jumped over the one and I completed the game.
It did look very pretty but there wasn't much to the gameplay like this. I'm sure it wasn't intended, but if it's possible, players are gonna take the path of least resistance. Why would you kill enemies if you can just run past them? I guess it does fit if you want to go with survival like you say in the description, but I wish there was something else to do/manage then
I really liked the world and the atmosphere. I've mostly just jump past every bat and reached the end. I think I missed the final dialogue because of that.
What would really helped is to have a button to skip all the dialogue, I restarted and had to hold enter until every text was gone.
The graphics: the character design, the backgrounds, the foregrounds, are all beautifully done. I found the combats difficult because the swings of the enemies were hard to predict. I ended up winning the game by running past all of the enemies until the boss and then very carefully 'fencing' the boss. Great entry, beautiful work!

I completely sucked at it and it took me a while to discover that I am supposed to jump not with SPACE ;). But - great work!

You can speedrun the game this way :slight_smile: (that's actually what we do sometimes)
