It is lagging?

Yes i found out too late p5js has a lot of performance issues for the rendering in e.g. Firefox. Please use chrome.

Out of cash game over!?

Check out the cash history after your loss. Upgrades and low population are very exspensive. You have daily costs which you have to pay every 3 seconds.

What tools did you use

Sublime Text, Aseprite, p5js

Actions

Vitamin C

Vitamin C will help your humans to stay longer alive. If you give them enough the chance to get infected will be lower.

Vaccinate

Your humans will be immune for 10 seconds after vaccination.

Water Storms

No Casino, no fun! Use this action carefully! It has hidden costs and it can rescue you in bad situations, make your total population strong for short periods or cause the worst infection you have ever seen.

Masks

Masks will make your humans immun for one possible upcoming infection.

Money

Money is important to keep live here. Print so much you can!!!

Trucks

The game will get harder the longer you survive. With the trucks it is possible to reduce the mortality. But be careful, this action has hidden costs.

Breed

No humans, no economy. Breed as much as possible. 100 population is max. Low population will increase the daily costs. So keep the population up.

Execute sick

You have trouble with infections? Just shoot them. A dead human can not infect others. Fast and effective!

Cool concept but I think for this maybe either slow it down or perhaps make it turn based, felt a little bit too hectic with all the people running around to be able to monitor what was happening. Could also be interesting if it was expanded upon with random events that happen to the population as time goes on, like disasters or temporary bonuses. Other than that I think its a solid little time-waster!

Good job! I loved the sound effects, each made me smile. Before even fully figuring out how to play I clicked every button just to listen haha. It took me a little bit to understand what each thing did, and the main screen was a touch hectic trying to figure it out. Once I did though it was fun! Maybe a ramp up/tutorial type thing would be helpful? Although time constraints makes that difficult I'm sure. Great job overall though I had fun!

This made me laugh more than I anticipated. Love the sound effects and the simple graphics are very suitable for the game, I am still trying to figure out what kind of gameplay keeps them alive for longer! Exterminating everyone doesn't seem to help ahah

yo @bredian, sorry for the confusion^^ i had no time for a tutorial. Maybe the action infos here on the ludum dare page can help you. The easiest way to start is to click as much you can on "PRINT MONEY" and from time to time "BREED". It takes some tries to get into the game ;-)

@sirtyler Yeah a turnbased version of this would be fun too. I also thought about some time based events. If i had more time i would have done some crazy things. The game in general is really fast and hard, i personally prefer games with hard difficulty.

I like the game. Sound effects are good, and there is plenty going on. Bit of a learning curve but I like it :)
The sound effect for the truck is the best by far haha

The game itself is confusing at first (it just throws you in there to utterly fail the first time around), but you keep playing... and playing... and playing. Until you reach a point where you can get a good score. Sounds were good, but I think having a sound track play in the background would have been nice. Good job!

Super difficult, I clicked as fast as I could until my wrist started hurting :joy:
But it was fun while it lasted, interesting concept, and I loved the natural sound effects :grin:

interesting concept, I love a clicker game so it appealed to me. had to play 3 times until I figured out how to make cash. It would have been helpful for more feedback in the game. I wasn't sure if I was able to buy something or not. But good idea, and great job!

Cool concept tho things happend so fast that I wasn't able to keep up with the game tempo, also it kinda doesn't make sens that if there are 0 infected new people are getting infected but that's just a sidenote
