Some notes on the controls - they were chosen to allow a few different hand positions. Personally I prefer __WASD + Shift & Spacebar__. You could also use __Arrows + Z, X, C, V__. __Ctrl__ to pick up is just awkward though, but it's there. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
* Note to Linux users: I was able to run this via steam using proton 4.11 with no launch options. * I will add an HTML5 version if I can figure out how to fix it, but it's looking like it won't happen. * There's a duplicate D-key in the controls graphic that I forgot to remove. Will fix if I have to fix any other serious bugs.
This is definitely a hidden gem, funny af. Just love it. The only thing I can say is that I won't recommend you to put the controls like that in one screen, at first sight it seems very complicated.
Man what a great game! Congratulations for this entry, nice graphics the sound is fitting and the mechanics work well. The only problem I had was the first jump after the first gate of the castle, killed a lot of runs, but I managed to do it in time! Also, I like the plot twist, great job!
@lee-beever I might know where you got stuck, now that I think about it. Not sure if it's serious enough, but I'll fix it if I do get around to making a patched version.
This is the most hillarious game I've seen this time around! xD Amazing! Crazy animations, wonderful graphics and nice puzzles. A few glitches here and there, but it's easily forgiven when there is such a nice horsey to carry around! Great game!
@nurk Thanks! When I made the music it just came out perfect right away. That almost never happens, and in a previous Ludum Dare I even gave up after failing miserably with the music.
It's nice to play a comedy game during these trying times, so appreciate the slapstick humor here. While most things were pretty self-explanatory, I confess the biggest struggles I had were controls. I'm so used to up-key being jump, having it be grab really messed me up.
I realize there isn't much you could do about this, but I found the physics-heavy nature of the game to be unpredictable and really annoying. To be honest, I didn't think the humorous animation was that great of a pay-off for the frustration I felt trying to get the horse fly high enough for the game to think the rope was being hit. The game is otherwise pretty fun, with silly rigidbody physics everywhere.
Really nice game! It was fun, funny and chaotic. It would've been much better with checkpoints, as replaying the whole game each time you lose is rather annoying, but that was my only gripe with the game. Great job!
This is fun. Physics were cool. I liked running just to give my horse extra moment and see it flying around and bouncing off various things. Art style reminds me of some older games, which I think is cool.
I didn't have any problems with controls, but the intro screen confused me for a bit because of all the arrows on the picture; but I thought I'd figure it out on the fly and I did.
