Oh no! Aliens have begun attacking the planet! Quick, into the Planet Defense Mech and knock back those meteors and send the alien scum packing!!

This was my first attempt to do a Game Jam. I was rather uninspired by the prompt, if I'm being honest. But my friend had a bit of an idea so I ran ahead with it. The biggest takeaway for me was my time management was _awful_. Utter trash.

I got side tracked high-detail modelling half a character that is being rendered at SNES resolution! I spent way too long rewriting code over and over again whenever I ran into a problem plugging pieces together. For example, I first made the character rotate the planet. But then I realized the stars weren't moving and that's not great. So I had to go learn how to calculate a point on a circle and move the player correctly based on the input.

Anyways, I'll try doing some more work on this but honestly there's so much issue with the core mechanic not being fun that all my time spent on visuals and learning things I've never done before (like the low-res rendering), I might be better off hanging this one up and using some things I learned on different projects.

Anyways, thanks for checking out my page. I'm going to reflect on this experience over the coming weeks and hopefully I can be better organized in the fall.
