I think you went for a trial-and-error type platformer game, but I think it's just too unfair. The levels are very long and most of the time the obstacles are off screen, and when you die you preserve your speed so you instantly lose a heart to a spike that is placed right next to you. The game also misses your input way too often for a double-jump. I had to quit at the slime level because that very precise jump between spikes through lava is too much for me.
@fupi@sirsnowy7 Thanks for the feedback, about the double jump, I am not sure how thge double jump bug happens but I tried for a while to fix it and didnt manage to, Its also the first game I create ever so I dont have almost any experience with coding in unity. Regarding the toughness, I did go for a trial and error type platformer but I guess since I didnt have any one that could playtest it, I didnt realize it maybe was too hard.
For your first game it is very impressive. It's a great starting point. I also found that the [down] Arrow wasn't detecting that I wanted to go down - but the [S] Key did. Keep on making games - I would love to see were your journey takes you next
Leap of faith - the game :D Yeah the platforming is very brutal, but I kind of enjoyed figuring out the levels still. I think there's everything here for a good platforming game, but you could adjust the balance of unfairness a bit if you want.
@gnx Thank you so much! Yeah I think I'm going to wokr on balancing and fixing the jump bug. I might add like an extra levels section where if you beat the game, you can play some levels that are brutal because for some reason I love those types of challenges
Also, I think the game dropped my double jump inputs a few times, unless you lose your double jump at some point. Might be bugged
