On the past, when this game was a famous minigame, it was the best. But now, it's only a old game. No more plays. No more players. The battery is bug and there is only a chance to save this game: the game safe its own battery! Can you help it? Catch energy and combat the virus. Good luck... bannerSaveTheGAme-16.pngLD46-10.pngLD46Screen_0002_Camada-3.pngLD46Screen_0003_Camada-2.pngLD46Screen_0000_Camada-5.pngLD46Screen_0004_Camada-1.png

I loved the game-within-a-game concept! It was a really nice touch that the buttons on the mini-game device actually worked to play the game as well.

Fun and simple. Liked the fact you can control the character by pressing the buttons on the screen. Adds a level of polish. But that laugh didn't quite fit for me? Art is cute. Nice job!

It would have been good to start a bit easier but getting harder by making progress.

Love the old handheld feeling of the game! I was using mouse to play the game, so it was quite challenging but fun to play! Great entry!

Very simple premise and game play mechanics, but does it's job! First I didn't know how to get rid of the virus. In the second run, I clicked on it out of curiosity only to see that some kind of hp bar went down. But even after that, it seemed that that is all there is in regards of game play. The game had a hard time to keep me interested more than a minute. The presentation style was a good idea, the art itself was a bit bland though. The music I liked! And it was good that you included sfx.

Nice implementation of a fairly basic gameplay loop. Once i saw the comments about playing with the mouse i had to go back and play it that way. really adds to the challenge that way. The graphics and sound are a lot of fun

I really like the concept of playing a game in order to keep the console battery alive. I loved it in concept, though this jam version of it had some bumps that kept me from wanting to play it more:

1. I was confused at why it was adding the scores of previous play-thrus together as it seemed to have nothing to do with the keeping it alive.

2. I had to practically guess that I had to click the virus in order to actually fight it, as there wasn't enough of a visual indicator otherwise, so my first few plays were really cut short without that knowledge. Maybe spawning it in different locations could also give some much needed variance.

3. Also, I think I really dislike the laughing sound effect of the virus, like... I really hate the volume level on it when wearing headphones (too loud!). But it definitely gets my attention, so it accomplishes what it needed.

I do like the concept though and I think it should be added onto, to continue the whole "play the game to keep the console alive" feel of it.

As an example: it might be nice for the mini-game itself to have 'lose' states that were not related to the whole game reseting, so you'd have to keep restarting the mini-game, but it would still charge the battery, so 'winning' the game doesn't necessarily 'win' the battery.

Anyways, keep it up! It's a good concept!

@elio , thanks for your comment! Until October on LD47!

@sinamon . thanks! I'd like to develop more this history. I played a lot minigames when I was younger.

@thiago-nascimento , my brother! Thanks a lot! Until next Jam. We can develop something together.

@mcjammydodger you are generous with your comment. After this jam I came back to study art. I need to improve this.

@koolruz , thanks! I'd like to put this experience on the buttons and I'm glad that you liked this. Thanks again.

@noamraz , thanks!

Nice entry. I didn't get that you had to spam clicks on the virus the first time. I tried clicking once and it didn't go away.

The sounds and music work well. It might help sell the idea better if the graphics on-screen were lower resolution pixel art than the stuff outside of the screen.
