#### *...when you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back...*
In Stalking Shadows, you play as Alina, an adventurer who has found herself lost in old ruins littered with strange magic, and even stranger creatures. Your torch light seems to stave away the dark creatures, but as time passes, light itself struggles to exist here. Fortunately, there are magical remnants that return your light, but who knows how many of these remnants remain as you explore, and what will happen if the light completely goes out?
Great aesthetic and atmosphere, the shadow creature design was especially impressive. It would be nice to have some kind of feedback so the player can get some insight into what to do.
- Really like characters. - Main character's head is ghosting ( probably due to torch implementation ). - "Looks like I have collected all these spheres... or not ..." feel due to lack of some feedback on progress
These shadows must be one of the creepiest things ever, absolutely terrifying... only one problem... They do nothing? I stood around them and walked with them through the whole level, after having them so long on screen I slowly lost fear towards them. I did not enjoy looking for the exit, every room is really similar to the previous one and its really easy to get lost. Really hard to map out the level in your head with so much darkness. As a final note, I must say the inverted camera controller bothered me a little. Great atmospheric setting and mood!
* The torch visual effect looks cool. * Not sure if my mouse sensitivity is too high, but I found the camera movement to be a bit too responsive. * That character model is impressive! The idle and walking animations look good. * The ghosts are very spooky. I love how the lower the torchlight, the more their bodies blend in with the darkness, so when you're full of light they're very clearly these black humanoid shapes, but as you get closer to out of light they're more and more just a pair of eyes creepin on you. * I noticed that the camera can clip through walls a bit. I couldn't put it to much use, though :p * The sound effects and ambient sound are very appropriate. I think it's probably better that there's no "music" per se. * Nice work!
I genuinely like this game It's fun, but would love something that says / shows / indicates the goal or the direction as to what to do and where to go. The graphics and designs were really impressive, good job, really! I was blown away. There's something wrong with the character's head, but it doesn't really matter. I feel like the screen goes too dark too fast, maybe slower increase would make the game more fun (or, probably, with the direction shown in some way, it would be okay) Overall, a pretty nice game! I think you should work with it more, and release a full game!
Nice and simple game. Graphics looks very good but playing it feels a little pointless - any score counter during the game would be nice. At the end it is like roaming in total darkness with no idea what to do, waiting for some ghost to finally catch us ;)
The graphics are great! Its clear you guys put a lot of effort into the look of the game, and you did a great job. Gameplay wise, its pretty stale though. Just a simple collect-a-thon with only one collectible but still impressive considering the time frame. I like how you approached the theme but it was a bit hard to tell from the gameplay that the fire from the torch was dying off since there isnt a clear visual cue other than the world lighting getting darker (which i thought was a glitch at first)
Thank you everyone for your feedback so far! We are taking a lot of your comments into consideration for the next release! Just to confirm, the enemies do not directly attack you, but they do SOMETHING to your character. You don't want them near you! Next release should make this more obvious ;)
Looking awesome!, loved the feel and the mood of the game. Really captures the theme and the post release really fixes a lot of my very small complaints. So overall Great Work!
