The Fire Keeper is a short game about a slime who must protect his village from darkness. All the assets were drawn using Aseprite. I used Unity and Visual Studio to develop the game. I made all the sound effects and music using Reason. The sound effects were made by items found around my house. I hope you like The Fire Keeper!
I like the villagers being bombs with no explanation to why. It was cute. The sounds were really well done. I would say the enemies weren't interesting or pathed well. The boss enemy coming for you instead of the fires was nice.
overall pretty good. the audio was great, I liked the art and "dark slimes" it did take me a while to realize I had more than 1 fire! some variety overall would be a great next step, enemies, weapons, fuel.
Nice and cute game. The black slimes were well hidden in the darkness, but aiming did not always work (maybe it was me though  ) maybe.. there could be a bigger hint to the fire being extinguished, like an arrow, or a blinking hint? Or a minimap? Sound was nicely thumping too. I liked it!
@zondarg Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I wish I would have had time to lower the flame and lighting effects more drastically when running out of fuel. It is tough right now to tell when you are refueling the fire too. Thanks for playing. I appreciate it!
@airwaffle Thanks for playing and giving feedback! :)
I would try and fix the picking up wood, it's hard to to pick them up. that's pretty much the only problem, overall nice game. I like that your music does not give you a hearing problems XD, thats a problem for a lot of other games. graphics are simple and nice, my favorite. I also like that responding to all the comments, I appreciate people like you :).
@crazygamingfab Thanks for playing the game! I appreciate the feedback. Did you think it was a range issue? I did put a max inventory of 25 pieces, but didn’t give feedback on this. Probably should have had something in the UI. :)
@michael-peoples i'm too sure about to go on about this, but I played a more and found that the character would not always interact with the wood of the ground. i'm not sure how you would fix this though mostly because i'm not an experienced programmer. I hope you figure it out though :)
