A Really bad day

This project has been made under 72h for the LudumDare 47.
The theme of the jam was : "Stuck in a loop".

To launch the game, download the package file from itch.io.

- If you're on Windows : Select the Windows folder inside it and launch "LudumDare47.exe"
- If you're on Mac : Select the Mac.app folder, then Contents, then MacOS and you'll find a file named "LudumDare47". ( Mac version not tested as we didn't have any Macs available

Idea

This game, is a textual game. It narrates a story where you have to make multiple choices.
If you do a wrong choice or go a wrong path of choices, you'll die and wake up again to do the exact same day.
Unless you do the right choices, you'll be stuck in the same day.

The purpose was to lose the player in a lot a choices and not making a wrong choice obvious. A wrong choice can be a wrong path that continues on and on with also multiple choices. Making the player unable to know the wrong choice right away and be "Stuck in a loop" for a long time.
Unfortunately, making a good story with that much choices wasn't possible under 72h.

But since we liked the idea, we wanted to open it to everyone that wants to collaborate to make this game better.

The interface was nice to use, there were lots of drawings, and your writing is pretty funny. It made me chuckle to myself once or twice.

Only thing I might add is if you could make it so that the player can skip to the end of the typewriter text as sometimes it takes quite a while for all the letters to appear.

Congrats for the submission! I liked playing your game, the drawings were cute, the sounds were nice. I had some problems though:

1 - You know when you are on a "bad timeline" because decisions stop branching, so you just click the whole way through till you get to the beginning again;

2 - I would love if it had a "click to show the whole text", as waiting for it to tipe itself out got quite time consuming after some time.

With that said, I think you got a really solid idea here, and it could be expanded into a myriad of different games (I kept imagining it as an dating sim, for example). Good work!

The typing sound was quite annoying (maybe a bit too loud). I had choices at the beginning then nothing and clicked many times before reading "Victory", text should appear quicker I guess. Drawings are colorful.

Funny story with a good choice of music, I like the way the text animates also. I would have liked more options but I understand the time constraint. The text cuts off on my screen a bit, might just be me though by the looks of it. Overall though it played well good job

We are currently working on opening the story writing to more people in order to have more options and fit the initial idea of the game better !

Haha, I accidentally survived the game the first time. No loop :D So I played it again a couple of times to die :) Waking up with a bad dream, that was clever :) Nice music, it adds to the feeling of doing a boring day at the office :D Glad to see other text games out there!

Great work! I love the title screen art. I was able to beat it on my third attempt. It was interesting to see how the character changed based on the choices in the beginning. However, it would've been neat to make some more decisions, but great job with the time you had!

It's very smooth, I like how the screens switch and how it permits really fast choice... The ambience is very cool aswell and I never thought a simple work day could be so dangerous to die that much! hahaha
The drawings are not awesome but they are all appropriate with their given situation.
I want to add, even if its not in the rating choices, that the sound design is very good ;)

Cool looking game, it is very polished! It is tough to make many good branching paths in just 3 days, so even though it didn't seem to branch too much, that is to be expected. Congratulations on the art and on the gameplay, it was very good!

I liked the dialogue and humor, all the UI was smooth too. I liked your text adventure interpretation of the theme, if you worked on it more you could add more branching paths!
