We built this Twitch-integrated Overlay game live on Twitch for Ludum Dare 47!
I like how the game takes a simple concept and makes an aesthetically pleasing experience out of it. I can't think of a single interface design choice I didn't enjoy: the choice of fonts and colours, the fact that text appears at varying positions, the background music, the way the buttons look and disappear/reappear etc. However, I don't really know what I have to do in order to advance. Even after more than a dozen attempts, I still haven't been adopted, and it seems like the visitors' reactions are a bit arbitrary. With your interface, I would gladly play your game for hours, if only it was easier to "win" (or if the game had no concept of winning at all).
Oops, I think the game might be too hard at the moment @nidrig Each visitor has different traits that they're looking for and we'll make it more obvious in an update!
I'm no good at getting adopted... But this is a super cute and wholesome game! Enjoyed seeing this situation from the other side of the kennel, the writing was lovely.
An endless loop of customers wanting to adopt pets. Nice! I do wish if we click somewhere then the texts could go a little bit faster. Anyway though, this game also actually made me feel emotional, maybe because I'm a huge animal lover and I wish for all animals to be safe and doing well and hope they find good owners. I really like that you guys were also spreading awareness for doggies needing good owners and good homes. I have a lot to say about animals, but overall this was a really nice and cute game. I like how it's meant to make people connect to animals that need homes too. Good job :)
I would make a bad pet for taking almost 15 minutes to be adopted~ Very relaxing game, and it really makes you feel how animals in adoption centers feel. It is kind of sad to think about all pets that are caged and never finds an owner.
