Mechanics are cool. I think you should add longer loop after the competition ends.

Nice simple game that is easy to jump into and play. It would have been better if you had some sound effects when you shoot and hit things. Look for something like bfxr if you want to randomly generate simple game sound effects next time :).

The enemies can see more distance than the player feels a bit unfair.
