Yeah, you read it right, DEPPER AND DEPPER (no that’s not a typo), Is Tavern Tale’s very stupid entry to Ludum Dare #48, theme Deeper and Deeper (yeah we know…)

Depper and Depper is a point and click puzzle game where the player must navigate through a computer interface, managing an ever-growing collection of windows, e-mail tabs and internet bullshit, diving ever deeper into stupid conspiracies and internet culture in this stylized pixel-art computer interface game, in order to discover THE TRUTH behind the disappearance of famous Hollywood actor, Mr. J. Depp (completely fictional character). Untangle a web of mysteries and idiotic internet conspiracies, and uncover the terrifyingly stupid truth.

Wow I can imagine how much work went into me thinking I am really on an old computer, this is incredible. As for gameplay I seem to get stuck, I believe I clicked all there is, what should I do? wait for more stuff to be sent my way ?

Things I liked:
- cool interface, cool concept.

Improvements:
- mouse wheel should scroll the text much faster
- "next"/"previous" news should scroll the new doc to the top

Bugs:
- you actually typed "Deep" in a few spots where you wanted to type "Depp"
- not sure if it's a bug, but after looking at the 3 icons; I didn't see any way to progress in the game.

Thanks for the feedback! Time to correct these typos. Also, the game's puzzles became a little harder than we imagined, so I will leave two hints here:
1 - The password to enter the DEEPWEB is divided in two parts. The first one is already given for you guys!
2 - Once you talk to ACE in the command prompt, be sure to have 5 open windows and check if anything changes in them!

Great aesthetic; sounds, visuals, mechanics all tie the idea together. It's hard to read so much text when its compressed into a tiny window. The puzzles were very challenging as well as it's not clear how I might get the second half of a password. Overall great work!

This is a very original take on the theme, I love it! Very creative! The whole game is incredibly polished for such a small amount of time that was available to make it. This is definitely my favorite so far. :)
The only thing that kinda bothered me is that the scroll bar stays on the same position when you switch between news on WOKE News. It would be better if it always scrolled to top.

This is great, got stuck with the 'system crash' part and couldn't figure out how to reboot. Tried refreshing the game but that just restarted me. Visuals are great though and love the audio + concept. Funny and unique take on the theme too. Great job!

Sweet concept, really like the gameplay. Some things were already mentioned, something else I can add, I got stuck when after moving the upper bar of the window outside of the screen, I had to refresh and start all over again

I couldn't progress further than getting the first half of a password, assuming I need to guess the second one?

The game definitely stands out by creating the feeling you are using an old PC and this is incredibly well done! Congratulations :clap:

This was a really interesting take on the theme. I liked it a lot. My main complaint though would be on user interaction. The scrolling of the text was way too fast if I clicked on the handle on the right and way too slow if I used the mouse wheel. It made getting through large amounts of text really cumbersome. Other than that though great job!
