Depths of the Deep

The art and gameplay have a really nice aesthetic. Some of the text seemed to be cut off but when I could read them they were really funny. Laughed out loud at the oreo comment.

Everything in this game is so deep, it changed my perception of the world... scary.

Nice work! But I was disappointed you couldn't use the pink marker to draw pink lipstick on the Madonna portrait. :cry:

Nice job. Some collision issues where I walked right off the edge of the rooms but overall I enjoyed the simple gameplay

When you said vertical metroidvania I thought there might be more item-solving going on. Like @almgru said, I was almost expecting to use the pink maker to draw on the portrait haha. Finding a key in a lower level to open the top door to find someone hungry for the deep fried oreo could have been neat.

Good game but I was able to skip the whole game by just jumping down and opening the chest. I suggest making some kind of locked door system where you have to collect keys in order to enter other rooms. overall good game!

Well done! I really liked the whole mystery story thing, although I wished the house was a bit more complicated with more exploration, although time is obviously important. But apart from that I really liked it, well done! :D

It looks good. I feel a little bit horrible. Secret rooms and basements always appeal to me.

I liked this! I really like the music, even if it is pretty simple. Also, some of the puns are pretty good - I didn't realize how many definitions of "deep" you could use when starting the jam!

Nice idea, was fun seeing what was in each room. Worked without coming across any bugs.

This game was really interesting! The background noise was VERY spooky, although it did get loud at times. And for some reason, the guy's snoring noise made me jump. XD Really interesting game! Great job!

I like it! Very moody and funny in the right dosage. The only nitpick I have is that the delay when you enter doors is a bit long. Great job :)

Would have been excellent with some of that Undertale-style beeps-and-boops "voice acting" to lend a sense of comedic timing to the dialogue. Very atmospheric. Consider blacking out tiles beyond the walls - see Celeste.

I'd love to go pro in game development in order to make masterpieces like this.

I have a few problems with going "down" the ladder, but eventually figured it out. I agree with the others about the delay from hitting 'z' to going through the door was a bit weird. Enjoyed the jokes immensely. Thanks!

I accidentally fell all the way to the bottom, but I made my way back up. Worth.

I had a little difficult with the latters until I realized how they worked. Other than that this was pretty good.

So very deep. I wish pressing space would have finished the dialog without closing it, so I didn't have to wait for the animation. Lots of fun jokes!

Gameplay is the weakest point, I wish it was possible to get from room to room quicker to see the jokes.

Funny game + super comfy. Gonna second that faster movement would have been nice, but I liked a lot of the art/writing.

Quite amusing. I liked the ominous vibe of the dungeon (pun-geon?) I think it suits whatever madman would create a deep dungeon dedicated to deep puns.

Funny, wish character moved faster though.

I think this is the first game of the compo I played that I managed to beat!

Nice atmosphere and nice job with this game! One detail I struggled with is that on my Firefox Unity doesn't capture space, so the screen jumped down every time I iterated on the text. Other than that, a nice experience :)

Moody little game :D i had the same issue with the space key. What i wondered is how does i use the items that i collected ?
And in the first try it just jumped down the whole ladder and opened the box in the last room - Game finished.
In the second i opened every door and then the box game finished.

Maybe it needs a bit more challenging or something - but it was just 2 days so for this it is really cool :)

Maybe build more rooms, add more items to interact with. The concept is very interesting.

I played till the end, and I was waiting for something to happen. cool graphics and sound effects, I just felt a little lack of content.
