Mushroom Mine
This is a unit selection game, kind of like starcraft. It's really rough around the endges and sometimes doesn't work properly but it can be quite an interesting concept. You need to select the Golems and have them dig into the ground to get away from the explosive shrooms that are ravaging the tunnel. As you dig you might see some slightly gray blocks, these blocks are clay and when mined will drop a resource that can be used to increase your army of workers or to build ladders to help you get to higher places.
I wish you the best of luck in the mine comrad.
Controls:
Select a unit by clicking them, or drag-select to select multiple. Right-click somewhere they can move to have them move there.
On the left side, you have buttons. The first is to mine. You can click to select a block to mine or you can drag select to select large chunks of blocks to mine. This will make a mining icon appear where your mouse is and when you finish selecting your blocks, it'll auto change back to a normal icon. p.s. Mining has issues sometimes where the kind of the unit of just give up when they do this you can tell them to move somewhere or click the cancel button then get them back to mining.
The second command is to grab clay, this is the resource used to build ladders and allies. This has an issue where your golems are unable to pick up clay if they're already in the same space as the clay, so you might have to tell them to move off of the stop than click the clay button.
The third command is to build ladders. This will grab clay if you don't have it and use that to build a ladder.
The fourth will build another golem. This will require 2 clay. The first will build the legs and the second will build the body. Once built you will be able to control the golem and have him help with your digging endeavors.
The fifth action is to cancel other actions. This will tell the golems to stop doing what they're doing. Sometimes the golems get stuck on random tasks so using this will allow you to cancel their tasks and move on to better things than standing around.

I know what you mean, I sucked with the savegame and lost a full day for a feature maybe noone will need. But as you say: that’s the nature of the jam
However, the lack of a tutorial really hurts it. My first couple of attempts, I could only give each guy one command, and it was micro-management hell. Once I realised you can click and drag, I tried again. I then found that you could do that for horizontal tunnels, but not vertical ones, which are what you mainly want. I kept going with one guy, and eventually realised that if the tunnel is two blocks wide, he can dig vertically. I reached the flag with the last guy.
I really hope you keep improving this after the jam. The world needs more strange worker management games!
I even saw them fly up to the top of my sheer mineshaft for some reason at one point. That was quite random.
The mushroom incursion was a cool idea and was well done.
I never figured out how to acquire resources, but I did get the two characters to the flag at the end.
I think the game would have worked better without the autoscrolling.
This is probably the most similar game to mine I have seen so far.
Great job on this game
