Welcome to Nefarious Dive.

There are legends about the hidden treasure of pirate Cpt. Niko Nefarious somewhere at the bottom of the sea. Take your trusty submarine and dive down, into the depths to find it. Are you brave enough to challenge the wildlife? Are you fast enough to outrun your explosions? Can you withstand the crushing depths? Only one way to find out. Dive today!!

LD 48 is our 4th entry and 2nd where we did all the assets ourselves. We hope you'll like the adventure in the depths :)

Some things you may want to know:
- use either arrow keys or W,A,S,D to move
- left click and right click on mouse will fire primary or secondary weapon respectively
- 'C' will open upgrades screen
- you can go bellow max. depth at your own risk
- explosions can and will hurt you too

Those were some tough fish! The clownfish just ATE my torpedoes and then rammed me dead :joy: The music made a great athmosphere.

wow, it's quite good.
Random thoughts after 15-20 mins of playing:
- secondary weapon feels really weird and useless
- enjoyable music and sound effects
- IMO upgrade system could work better if there will be an option to improve your ship health in addition to just repairing, that eats a tons of money. Fire rates upgrades in late stages feels overpowered.
- small fish collision and speed are frustrating

@d34th0ftit4n5 @hiki911 interesting to see you both agree on that :) secondary does damage two times..on impact and then the explosion. it's much faster to break clusters of rocks with it instead of the primary.

I love all the different fishes! It was also cool how the sub dove down at an angle. The music was spot on for the game.

Cool game! Felt slow on my first run because I was dumb and forgot you can buy upgrades. Having less, more powerful upgrades would probably make it feel better but I'd understand if you want the game to last longer and want the player to be cautious while playing. Adding a radar or something to see where money spots are and avoid enemies would really make this feel better to play too.

Fun game! I appreciated ramping up from being terrified of the fish to being an unstoppable fortress of death over time. I also loved the aesthetic of the sight area getting smaller and smaller as you went deeper.

I couldn't tell, but it didn't seem like there was a higher percentage of money spots as you went deeper, so it didn't feel like I was being rewarded for going deeper until ultimately winning the game. A very fun entry though, good work!

@danny-sperling that's true, there is not higher percentage for money blocks, but you get more money from everything as you go deeper

I found the treasure, murdered a bunch of fish, and didn't die!

Good music, level generation felt good enough to not be too cramped.
Fish are mean little things.

Fun shooting game, enjoyed shooting fish to upgrade my sub. The only thing that I found clunky was when you were moving left and right while shooting at something, where you were shooting from would change. It might make less sense but would be more consistent if the projectiles came from the center of the ship. Great work!

Very cool game. I managed to find the treasure! I will say that in the beginning, it is really hard to get going because of how hard it is to hit fish with your weapons compared to how fast they swim. But after maxing out the primary, it became quite easy. I didn't really put much money into the secondary as it seemed best to just keep my primary going. Solid entry, thanks for giving me something fun to play :)

I managed to max everything out and win! Those clownfish are vicious — or should I say fishious? Would have been cool if the various depths had more differences from each other, the strategy seemed to be to linger at the surface until maxing out, then diving to find the win. It also seemed like the fire rate upgrade was linearly decreasing the time between shots, meaning it was exponentially decreasing the shots per second. That last upgrade is pretty crazy!

Sorry for the absolute chaos that ensued during this part of the stream. :pray:

Overall, I liked this one. I feel like the upgrades could be doled out a little quicker, but otherwise this was a solid game!
