Sub-Optimal

Nice Submission! I love the little bubbles from the propeller, adds a nice touch. Not to mention, the main character is a literal footlong. Some more enemies and variety might be nice, either than that great work!

This game was pretty fun to play, I really enjoyed all the sandwich puns!

Yo! Definitely the funniest jam I've played yet :laughing: loved the dialogue and the idea of a sub sub lol definitely found it pretty challenging after lvl1 though and although being able to speed up the lines was helpful, I wish I could've skipped them altogether after the first round. Great entry with a nice lighthearted approach and loads of character!

You can casually fly away in the the sky and over the terrain. 5/7

Such dedication to what is essentially a triple-pun is remarkable, congratulations. I thought the camera was way too close to the sub, I kept taking damage from things I cannot see coming (especially those damn olives). Anyway nice job!

Really fun. I love the humor and the story, gives it some extra "depth". Funniest one I've played yet!

Now that's a sub i can relate to. On a feedback, would love some damage taken animation

Congrats for your submission, I'll just leave a little advice: don't put so much stuff to read at the start of the game, people don't want to read, they want to play. Leaving that aside, all the rest is executed nicely, good job!

Well done. Funny too :D. The speaking with the.. uh.. crew? was my favorite part :D. Graphics look nice, music sound good. Didn't fully understand the mustard usefulness.

First of all, none of the things i will say should make the game look bad or sth like that. It is a funny idea and i like the simple but detailed artstyle, but some of the green squares like the one at the beginning on the right dont rly fit. Also the checkpoints dont match into the style. The unique checkpoints are great, but u dont spawn at them when u die later on. It always sent me back to the start. Another thing I noticed is, that u can spam Mustard bombs all the time. Overall its a good idea and i liked playing it =)

Nice game, although i find it would be nicer if you could actually customize the ~~sandwitch~~ submarine

text should definitely go fast by default and reveal by 'space' instead of going faster. And it's better to align it to the left, so words wouldnt shift while reading

Fun submission, thank you! The art and audio fits and the "sub" puns are just hilarious. The hint about the last checkpoint was helpful, since I failed to find it at first. In general it would be nice to mark the checkpoints more explicit in my opinion. One small and funny bug I found: the sub can fly out of the ocean and actually leave the intended game area :smile:
I also had infinite mustard bombs somehow.

I love that it's a "sub"-marine, the humour was great and the music was really cool. There are also some nice details that I appreciated like being able to speed up the dialogue with an extra click. Nice job :)

@nikl yeah, the top collider got misplaced during design lol and we sadly ran out of time to implement the mustard bomb mechanic fully

I loved how charming the artstyle was! The humour is there and the music was great as well. Some of the controls felt a little bit strange at points, but this was a fun submission, Good work!

The art for the sub was on point, but the checkpoints not functioning was unbelievably frustrating given you had to sit through the dialog bits every time you went back to the checkpoints!

+ points for the meta humor though, the bits that annoyed me were merely functional! (text speed/the way it printed, checkpoints)

Overall, still a nice experience, if a bit frustrating :)
