The Shaft

Escape the cruel world that is falling apart by going deeper and deeper into the old mining shaft. You have to remove debris and fight aliens on your way down to the freedom.

The device has a scanner and will frequently scan the debris and hint what powerups are hidden.

How to play

Move with A and D.
Shoot with space.

Hit bricks and collect powerups.

To disable the music press M and to disable audio press N (but sounds already playing will still be played until they end)

Powerups are randomly generated for each play.

If you have the Catch-powerup you can move in the direction and shoot to give the ball an angle. Also moving while hitting the ball will cause the angle to change in the direction you moved.

Tools used:

* Unity 2021.1
* Aseprite
* Ableton Live with Sylenth1 and VSTSID
* Gimp
* Audacity
* BFXR

All graphic, music, audio and code was created during the Jam. No assets from Assets store was used. A few standard Unity provided packages was added and used (Universal shader pipeline and Cinemachine).

Update:

We pushed a small update on 28th with no new features but fixes for two gamebreaking bugs that could cause a room to never finish and you would get stuck there. The other fix is an error causing the bricks not taking damage and sometimes you wouldn't get a new ball when you lost the previous.
