There's no time limit or any way to fail. The original idea was that the environment would get more and more corrupted as you progress through the game (possibly even making some areas no longer accessible), but there wasn't enough time.

2021-10-05 Post-jam bugfix:
-Fixed cursor not changing when hovering over the activated portal
-Added a 1 second delay before playing ending music
