Tick Away
Tick Away is narrative driven game about delivering a time bomb that make you think of the past.
Also, sometime, life is just as unstable as a time bomb.
You will need to help the main character stabilize and defuse a dangerous tilt fuse bomb delivered to his locker. Reveal the story behind the time bomb as you resolve the crisis.
The game consist of two part,
part 1 is delivering the bomb to the defusing location,
part 2 is defusing the bomb.
Team:
Yubing Xie, Cheng Guo, Zhongrui Liu
In the start menu, click `ticking` to start the game.
Control:
1. Part 1: A, D or left/right arrow keys to move left or right
up, `press frequently up/down arrow keys` to lift or down arm to stable the bomb.
2. Part 2:
mouse movement and left click.

I accidentally clicked on the credits first and was like, wow, this is a short game, lol. In the itch.io browser, the game didn't quite fit into the window for me, even at full screen. Otherwise, though, an interesting idea. I like the bomb carrying part in particular and could definitely see that being slotted in as a little mini-game in a larger narrative-driven game. Nice atmosphere!

I loved the art style of this one – the colors were wonderful! Perhaps the diffusing mechanic could have been a little clearer - it took me a couple minutes to realize what I was supposed to be doing, but having it be in the path of a heart was a lovely touch stylistically. Great jam, congrats on getting it done!

I exploded a couple of times before I figured out that the goal of the first portion was to keep the time bomb level - but that explosion was very chill. Good call! If it had been anything else it would've really interrupted the feel.
Overall I think `a time bomb that make you think of the past` is a really cool idea. Good job! Y'all really nailed the vibe.

The visuals in this were awesome, and props for telling a full story start to finish! I think the walking portion could've been a taaad shorter (or just had more obstacles, the tilting is pretty easy once you figure it out), and I actually found hoping for a lengthier bomb diffusing portion! These are mostly nitpicks though you delivered something with a surprising amount of polish 👍

Really nice and surprisingly deep entry. The controls were kind of wonky as I was struggling to figure out if I was supposed to hold or spam keys to control the balance. Thanks for the game. The mood in particular was excellent.

Wow. A very heartfelt and emotional story. Great graphics as well! An amazing game. Perhaps the bar above could use other art instead of the standard slider. Honestly really well made.

Great game, great art style, great sound Settings, great narrative, and controlling the balance bar at the top while going up and down the hill is an important part of the "unstable" gameplay. Cool!
But using Unity's Slider as a balance bar is a bit of a violation hahaha, and there's no way I can cancel the return menu when it pops up and continue the game.While playing defusing the bomb I found that part of the pipeline was off-screen and I couldn't zoom in to decrypt it, which forced me to close the game.
All in all, it's a great game!

I loved the art and the mood. The art style was simple, but beautiful, and it really fit well with the theme of the game. Combined with the music, this was a really emotion evoking entry into the jam.
One critique I could give is that I would have like a clearer explanation of the mechanics. I died a few times before realizing how the controls worked and how to move. Stabilizing the bomb could also be fine tuned a little. Other than that, I don't really have many things I didn't like.
Once I got into the flow of things, I really enjoyed the entry. There are very few games I've played till now that were narrative in nature, but I think you executed it well! It wasn't overly long, and the story was short and conclusion satisfying. All in all, well done on this entry.

Well executed, somber atmosphere. The gameplay is simple, but actually compliments the narrative well in my opinion. The cutscenes are beautiful!

Mood, music and graphics all work together very well. The short story was intriguing at the beginning, but because I had to focus on the bomb I missed what the text was saying during walking stage. Mini game and the end was adequate, although I was rather disappointed by its simplicity. All in all I like it.

So much text and deep story, i were not ready enough to this i guess. There was so few action. Defusing the bomb was really cool. I like the graphic style a lot in here as well, but the story was not for me i guess and in any case the story with deep level like this is not something to tell the player in 5 min of total game play. Finding the bombs would be really nice feature on this; something like in limited time & with shovel and hints.
