Unstable Abel
Description:
In this cute zombie survival game, you play as Abel.
Abel is a bit unstable on his feet at the best of times. But given that he is being chased by an ever-growing horde of zombies... he is a little more unstable than usual.
Control Abel as he runs, dodges, jumps and tumbles through the landscape in front of him. Dodging around cars and ploughing through fences in order to escape certain doom.
Each collision will cost him some energy, and ultimately make him even more unstable. How long can you survive the zombie horde?
Controls:
W,A,D to move.
Space to jump
Escape to close the game at any point

Lol, it's like Human Fall Flat, meets Frogger, but with zombies...and washing machines, obviously. :) What's not to like! Nice art, nice music, nice grunts, nice flaily appendages! Very satisfying, and totally realistic, collision response when getting hit by a bus!

Nice little game, the graphics were nice and the wonky physics was cool to look at :D also Abel's annoyed noises when bumping were a nice touch. Only thing was I didn't know about the invisible boundaries, the game is in sort-of isometric view, but wants you to go forward, I was confused several times trying to run to the sides only to seemingly get bugged and stuck. I would suggest adding some semi-transparent wall so that it is clear, that you are hitting the level border :) Good game, had a little laugh which is quite rare

@drunk-wizard we did try with semi-transparent boundaries, but it looked a bit weird. We also tried add a force to keep pushing you back when you get to far from away and that felt wrong.
But we agree, there needs to be some indication that you are closing in on a boundary. Just not sure what.

I like the graphics, the music and the sounds. It was a hilarious contrast - you are running from brain-eating zombies in a sunny environment with cheerful music and the world around you didn't even notice there's an apocalypse out there :smile:
I too thought the controls are a bit wonky, I got stuck in seemingly random places. I had trouble going to the left in particular. If the controls felt smoother, I think I would play longer than I did.
Nice touch with the tiny bit of voice acting, that's always good to hear.

What a fun game! I could spend hours playing.
I liked the graphics, and the sound too. The gameplay proposal to survive as long as possible is simple but very functional and fun.

This is fun, nice work! Procedural generation is spot on and animations are really funny. The cars stutter around a bit but you're surely aware of it. The real question is... why are people driving around like it's nothing on a zombie apocalypse?! And who left those washing machines around??? :P

Funny game, i like it, good execution of the theme, i use the cars to get away and the others get crushed lol
The physics are very fun and the procedural generation is well made as well !
Slowly loosing control is so fun we almost went with the same idea at some point in the jam ^^
