Unstable spore for Ludum Dare 49. You need to kill the unstable spore with your cards. Spores have some unstable states and may act or change their position just when you move or attack!
This is a rouge-like game in which you need to face unstable enemy of spores and think about resources control. Spores has three states(normal, angry, weak). They could change their states or take action(move/duplicate) in any time. You need to kill the elite spore in every level by taking normal action and using special skill cards that cannot be used again in the whole game.
First time join in Ludum Dare. Beg your understand when finding some bugs or unsatisfied content.
Interesting idea. It seems like the best tactic is going directly to the elite, so I didn't interact with any of the other spores very much. The cards had a good variety of effects, but when I drew extra cards they flew off the screen.
A nice and completed game with a cool concept and adequate graphics and music.
It would have been better to have clearer sprites for each state, and to have a transition card when you finished the level (because it's abrupt).
Also, it's fun but it's too easy. Spores only cause damage when attacked (and angry). So there's no strategy needed, and you don't have to cautiously use the cards (and you easily gain more). It would have been better for the spores to have random reactions (which would bring it closer to the theme because it's not really the case). Maybe if they had their "own cards" (the same as ours) which would make them more threatening.
Aside from a few glitchs and this easyness, that was great.
I managed to understand it after a while. Being asked to pick cards before knowing how to use them was daunting. I could do with hand-holding or a simple tutorial. The theme was excellent, defeating spores is fun. Reminded me of Space Station 13, when the spores invade there. Set inside a structure or specific location, such as an abandoned spaceship, might give the game more atmosphere. Pretty cool. Having a reset button would have helped, me pick the game up quicker.
Nice little game, I enjoyed playing it. Noticed a few bugs like certain cards not working or my cards disappearing. Overall though the gameplay is nice. Good work!
I think I broke the game when I pressed move and didn't chose any tile. I couldn't do anything more (even end turn) Game felt like a loop though, doing the same thing over and over again. And for some reasons new cards never appeared. Apart from that pretty cool concept, like pretty much all games needs some work! Thanks!
Nice game, it was entertaining and did not take too long to complete. One problem I had was that cards disappeared from my bottom bar (probably because there were to o many). Other than that, the card "draw 2 cards" probably should be named - "draw 2 cards on the start of the next round".
Congratulation on your first LD game. I hope you will stay with us for log time. I must say, this is a really interesting game and very addictive! With some improvements and additions (adding for types of enemies, for example one that shoot in chosen direction) this game can grow to really complex one! Great job with the game!

Movement is king.
Good first LD entry, and doing a compo first is pretty wild. Nice job.
