Wow, this was a tough puzzle! I think I got like, 9 points once? Definitely fit the theme!

Great art, great little game to play!

I keep getting a memory exception (web version) but I managed to play for a bit. Graphics are wonderful. The error I think I narrowed down to when a knight is on what I'm calling A2 (far left, second row from bottom). When I try to move him off that tile I get an exception.

I can't seem to do good enough to hire another knight but outside of the error and what I'm sure is my poor ability to play, it is pretty nice entry

Puzzles are not my thing and I can't say anything about that but your art is great overall I enjoy the game. Good Job!

PS. Are there any other levels? because after many attempts I only got 12 points if they weren't spawning in maybe it could be possible to clean the map but its hard if not impossible

The sprites are gorgeous. Really impressive quality for a jam game. Plus the VFX/Animation is very pleasing and matches the art style perfectly. My one complaint is that I don't understand how the enemies choose what and where to move.

High Score: 5. A starter level would have been really useful... but I guess that is the theme.

What a nice game! It really clicked after a few tries, and I really enjoyed airdropping knights as bait to divert the chicks' attention to make an escape and/or using them to mitigate the dangerousness of the random spawning into my territory (bait + deleting an inopportune enemy? Yes please!). At first I felt slightly underwhelmed, but getting the hang of it really allowed me to see how smart the design is! I almost managed to clean up the top right quadrant of the board! Rather simple, but incredibly effective, and so well executed, and oh my! What polish! And the theme really shines through!

That king, though, is a cold blooded killer. He *should not* be waving his arms helplessly like that. (Unless of course, it's a brilliant act to get his adversaries to let their guards down?) In my last run he killed about 40 barbar-chicks. What a warrior. Thank you for this wonderful entry!

Ah it works now. I think this might be the winning game. The most impressive part is the move solver. Did you use backtracking?

@larsdu phew glad it worked for you. Perhaps it just takes a while to load if you are playing it for the first time.

The game is using an evaluator based on simple weight-values. Out of all possible moves (linear O(n) search), the game will simply choose the one that yields the highest evaluation. No tree-search or backtracking is used :)

Quite challenge game!

Quite the interesting game. Getting insight into the Barbar-chicks AI is helpful. The knight moves definitely makes it tough, my king was doing most of the work but probably takes a bit more playing to develop better intuition.

@adangtran The knights can travel further, so you can use them to bait and reposition the barbar-chicks before jumping out of their range. This should give you time to plan your next move.

Such polish

Super cute and surprisingly tough game! My high score was 15. Games that take a twist on chess rules always win me over. Another good one!

high6...I'm not good at this type, but it's really well done.

Cute game. The art is really fun and I like the game idea. I did find it really hard.
I tried playing four rounds and my high score was 4, so that's a little frustrating, but I'm also not fantastic with puzzles so that may be a factor in my difficulty.
It's a very impressive little game to make in a weekend though, great job!

Awesome game! It is tough, but enjoyable. Really well polished. Maybe implementing other chess pieces would add even more to the game. Just a suggestion. Anyway, great job!
