Crab Battle

Took me a while to actually find some of the crabs, but then it was pretty funny to keep hitting them, throwing sticks and throwing crabs at other crabs.

Was not sure what the "H" value at the top was until I eventually ran out of ... health ^^

The shader is a bit hard on the eyes, but overall looks like quite a bit of fun!

Enjoyed it, loved the shader and the ending. Tried to swim off the island but reappeared back on it...guess this is the island from Lost. Good job.

Crabs at other crabs is probably the way to maximize survival time. That said, the crabs just seem to wander around. I had to intentionally lose once I ran out of sticks. Fun concept, though.

Honestly what could be better then bonking crabs on the head and chucking them. If you do a post jam build I suggest adding a tutorial:D

Killed 23 crabs. felt like I really got into the groove when I realized you could chain attacks by throwing crabs at other crabs and then picking them up again. Also I like the shader, makes the art style feel distinct.

For constructive criticism I feel like the progression could be taught more, like that you have to pick up boards and crabs, and also even though I like the shader the blocky hands feel out of place with it on the background. I was going to say I didn't get a big feeling of "delay the inevitable" but then the island filled up with crabs and I ran out of boards so I take that back, lol

Entertaining. I wish we could make a fire and cook these crabs.

In my first playthrough I ran & grab a board if I were doing it on daily basis but I wasn't expecting the ability to grab 'n throw stunned crabs hahaha that laugh me a lot then I feel bad and tried peaceful run just to be called a monster again :( haha good job, congrats!

Fun little game! Graphics are cute. It is very simple but is still fun to play! Great job.

Hahaha. I got carcinazized. Right as it happened- my comp crashed- FYI. Was playing on Surface Book 2 / Firefox- maybe my fault? I was able to de-dock and it came back. Fun art and hilarious sound effects. Love the poster art- where is that from? Was it inspiration? Thanks for the game!

@joemid Oh yeah, the game is basically inspired by that painting and the "crab crab food scared crab frightened crab" video.

Oh heck yeah! This was a blast to play, the multiple pickup toss sorta options was a good variety, audio fx were great, and the shader added some charm. Well done!

Congratulations on the game, I liked the shader, I believe that this game is one step away from becoming a survival game of constructions on the island, and attacking the crabs can be one of the activities, if you can give your feedback in my game I will also be very happy a big hug.

Really like the shader / post process effect you have on top of everything. Would be cool to see this with the models and controls a bit more refined.

LOL hilarious game! Simple graphics but the dithering effect added a lot to the asthetic. The ocean sounds also set a nice ambiance for crab carnage. Had lots of fun with this one!

I wasn't sure if yeeting the crabs into the ocean would kill them. Fun game though!

Little bug report: I tried with an Xbox controller, but the rotation rate on the camera was veeery slow.

I really enjoyed the sound effects. It took me a moment to realize that I needed to pick up a stick before I can fight the crabs, but that was just me (a bit slow when it comes to new games). The actual game is much cuter than the coverage poster you have =)

Lol I was just talking about carcinization the other day. I liked the graphical filter, got a goofy obra dinn vibe from it. One of the funnier entries I've played, and nice and brief.

One of the funnier entries I've played so far! The graphics look original (the meshes looked pretty basic, but that's to be expected in a 3D game done in 3 days), though the pixelized background was a bit of an eye-strain the more I got into it. Audio's well-done, especially the sound the crabs made ("ow!") made me let out a bit of a chuckle. The controls are tight, and easy to maneuver (manoeuvre) around, and the gameplay simple, but the crabs kept coming! The cheeky text ending after taking care of 12 crabs (the "you monster" line) was hilarious!

A few additional critiques I have for this game was that the UI for the player's health could be improved a tad bit, and that the title should be called "Attack of the Crabs", but that aside, this game's a great and solid entry!

Originally, I couldn't play because of lag on Chrome. After trying it in Firefox, as suggested, it worked great! And I'm very glad it did! What a delightful little game. I never quite got the hang of throwing crabs at other crabs, but it was just a fun time. The audio is absolutely spot-on and made me giggle every time I hit a crab. I'm more than happy to succumb to my fate and accept that it is now time for crab.

@acearcher I'm sorry to hear about the performance issues! I've heard that WebGL builds sometimes don't work well in Chrome, perhaps a different browser or using the windows build world help?
