Distract The Cat

lol, fun game :)

Cute game, The movement/controls feel super similar to bouncing a toy(like a feather on a string) for a cat in real life.

So fun, my efforts were not enough to distract the cat, just like my real life one... This game is very realistic. I loved the music, and it's really cute art too.

Cute game! I love the sunglasses on the cat. I feel like the game would be better if there was some more progression. Currently I felt like it was a bit too easy and I probably could have gone forever.

Also while playing my eyes were focused on the laser so I couldn't pay attention to the distraction meter at the bottom. If the distraction gauge was part of the background somehow I think it would have been easier to guess how well I was doing.

Anyway great game. Loved that pixel art.

For progression I was thinking of ways to unlock new cat and laser skins but failed to implement them on time :P

I love the animation at the end, when the cat spills the glass with sun glasses. Very funny haha. Even it is not explained what to do we understand very easily. Good game design, very cute and well done ! :)

Haha, fun simple game with a very cute art style :D

The art is well-made & expressive, & the gameplay of getting the laser on the mirror is decently entertaining. The time between losing & the retry screen feels a little long, but other than that this was a fun little game!

Nice game! It's like an infinite fishing minigame. The music and overall mood/feeling of the game is great - super cutesy and lighthearted. My highscore was 2:46 and I think the only reason I lost it from there was my fingers falling asleep haha

I like this game! I've reach 0:56! Close to a minute, it feels hard to keep the ball in the mirror.
Also a huge fan of the cat glasses. Great job :v:

I hate it when my cat kncoks a glass of the counter and then puts on sunglasses to give me a smug look. cute and fun little arcade game.

Cleanly done, reminds me a bit of a Warioware microgame. Has that good addictive quality.

Got to 42 seconds after a few tries. Fun game!

Also well done on including music for your entry! That's a tough one for compo projects.

Managed to sustain the cat for 48 Seconds!

Pros:

- Flappy bird in the sheep's skin
- Predictable gameplay, which gives room for improving the skill of the player
- Pixel art in this mobile format work nice together
- Extra Meow for the cat!
- Good difficulty steep
- Little bit of music in Compo is always a plus (and tells you how brutal 48hr is)

Cons:

- Unfortunately, with that kind of aspect of the screen, it is very hard to keep your eyes on the distraction meter to understand how well / bad you're doing. I think one of the solution would be to put a meter in a frame around each mirror, so you're not only focused on the laser, but have your eyes on the context.
- Subjective: Color palette could be a bit better, as the green and yellow seems a bit distracting each other

Nontheless, great first submission! Take my :cat: of appreciacion and keep up the good work!
