Really thoughtful interactive art piece that made me think a lot about what is worth being immortal. Simple in it's execution but deep in its content.

That was something different, its a nice and short experience!

Nice little piece of IF, I was left wanting a little more in the ways of consequences for the choices, but the writing was quite nice.

interesting game. the moving around felt wierd. switching between the on screen control and wasd stuck a bit.

Interesting choices. I liked the pixelart as well. :D Also really nice writing and tone!

Overall good. I like the tone, but I said no to all of them. Immortality is a curse that we think we would want, but really it will eventually break us, because at the point, what truly is the point of living? I think it would be an interesting thing to explorer in a game like this...than just the percieved positives.

Ooooh I love me some introspection in my video games. I also particularly enjoy that you didn't judge the players' morals with a gameplay reward or punishment.

In addition, nice music, sound and spritework (especially the main character looks fabulous).

Overall, great work, made even more impressed by the fact that you're a single-person team.

Shoot! I accidentally skipped past the final screen telling me my results. Overall it was such a unique and interesting premise. Really made me think about what I found important, at least once I had stopped just granting people immortality to literally everyone. I think given an infinite amount of time, I wouldn't have thought to make a game like this. Great job :)

Getting to the end hit me right in the heart. I'm really glad I didn't see anyone's screenshots before I played, because the ending screen was an absolutely amazing experience. I was not expecting to have such an emotional, mindful, or introspective experience in this jam, but here we are, and I am floored. Beautiful concept and 10/10 execution. (Or for our purposes, 5/5.)

That was an experience! Well thought through causes and dialog with a bit of humor. Very well done! It's also great that there's no judgement of the player's choices and only the player themselves can judge if something is right or wrong. Good stuff, highly recommend!

Follow-up thoughts: attempting to get a moral dilemma into any game is tricky business, and especially within the time constraints of a jam. "Who deserves to live?" is a particularly tricky one to get right in a game context, too. I'm not sure you quite nailed it for me, but the fact that I said "maybe I should have taken a 'save everybody' approach instead of moralizing about them' and then immediately followed that up with 'but forget this guy'" means you definitely got somewhere with it. Nice work.

It different take for the jam. Obviously there's no right or wrong here.
Nice work makng this kind of game nonetheless.

Here's my results! Started off giving everyone immortality but changed my mind half way through my playthrough after reading some of the reasons they wanted immortality

I really like the artwork and the world design. The music choice was a good one, too. Exploring the level was a nice experience, and it's a very thought provoking take on the theme.

In the end, who am I to judge?:

I loved the game! The truth is that the story is very good and the music is immersive, you have done a tremendous job! Great game, seriously!

Lovely little cute game. Haha I ended up not granting anyone immortality because I personally believe it's a valid human limitation and perhaps what actually makes us human to keep our lives. In all honesty I think it did make me appreciate the value of a limited life a lot more, as all these things I believe are not as valuable as a limited life. Memento Mori! Thank you for the game!

I was not the most generous of reapers, but still, there was some that at least had me consider it! I think any game that can get people thinking and accessing their moral standpoints certainly has merit. The spritesheet used was great and helped set the mood and give a nice polished feel.

Pretty nice entry! I was waiting to see how my choices would impact the ending, but unfortunately there wasn't anything. Perhaps if it wasn't a jam entry! :D

Great take on the theme! You did a great job bringing this to life (afterlife? hehe) and it's such a unique challenge. I think the framing of being Death themself and walking around adds a lot to the experience, and the scentario inspires much thought- can we trust the souls? Assuming we can, how do we know they will actually be able to do what they say? On what basis *should* Death grant immortality? Would I be able to put into words a system of how I chose, or was it really just based on my own emotions? One of the most thought-provoking entries I've played for a LudumDare!
