Hold Up Mom!

Oh man, seems like we messed up publishing the game as jam game. Well then - EXTRA it is then. Still has the scope of a jam, but we hope you'll like it anyway.

I had a lot of fun exploring all the different ways to distract the mother, but I wish there was a timer to gauge how long I was able to do it. Ruining the living room was a blast and I enjoyed all the furniture art scattered throughout the house (plus you can pet the cat, so you know).

By timer, you mean the time as witten number (in seconds for example), in addition to the depleting bar on the right?

@ntimi I think the depleting bar was very handy, but I was more-so thinking of a timer during the ending scene with the mother. So you could see which actions distracted her for the longest amount of time, you know? Either way, it was a very enjoyable experience.

Funny concept, and unfortunately kinda relatable haha! Art feels very nostalgic, reminds me of the days of flash games. It would be nice to see how much I was able to delay mom. I'm curious if I performed every distraction that was implemented.

Trashing the house was fun, i didn't get told off for not cleaning because she was about to tell me off for calling the police, oops! fun game, replayed it a few times just ruining the house, good fun!

Fun little game with lots to explore.

Some of the indicators weren't super clear, like the table. It tells you only cake goes there, but only when you have an item. Before that it seems to do nothing; and it's the first indicator you interact with so it leads to some confusion. Probably my biggest gripe though is that dialogue hints don't pause the timer; feels like I'm being cheated of precious time.

I wish there was a scoring system as well. It'd be fun to try and optimize your score around anger/delay time/etc.

i love the graphics! also great idea, and really fun! the only problem is with the controls, which are not so fluid. Apart from this, nice job!

I really enjoyed the variety of the stuff you can do to delay mom.
Its a lot of fun to experiment with this.

I also think that a scoring system of some kind would help to make it more interesting.

We actually had a very similar idea to this for our game. Its nice to see a different vision of it.

evading angry parents, definitely felt the mood! didnt realize immediately that i could not move diagonally, though it was fine and controls felt like they made sense as the game went on

overall, it really caught the kid trying to appease strict parents vibe :laughing:

Super game well polished! We understand quickly what we have to do. A second run was necessary not to burn the cake ^^ !
I love the music ! Especially the change when the mother arrives very cinematic!
