Delaying the inevitable: vengeful droids shooting bullets at you to terminate you!
Sometimes, inaction can let you prepare for the inevitable.

Read your mysterious' guide messages to find a way of beating the level.

Through various levels you'll be welcomed by those (strangely reminding yourself) cyborgs (or was it droids?).
You can't trust your eyes, many things can fool you.
