The graphics are adorable, and the music is fitting. The controls are pretty rough though. I think the jumping would feel better if Wookie jumped when the spacebar is pressed instead of when it's released. The collision breaks occasionally, causing me to die a few times. I'm not familiar with Unity, so I don't think any advice I could give you would apply.
Overall, it's a nice game!

@killerb thank you so much I’m glad you liked it ! The jumping was a hold over from the fact my dog irl can’t jump very well but you’ve got a good point it would have felt better if the control was on press instead of release. Thanks for playing!

This is totally bizarre. I love it! The controls are pretty weird too - the jumping etc. But I thought it was a perfect match to the general weirdness!

How do you come up with this stuff!?

Tip: Ideally platforms should not collide when you are travelling up, only on landing - makes jumping easier to handle.

Ooow the dog is so cute! And so are the little monsters all around. I had a fun time playing, and I liked the bosses names too!

@pete-thorne thank you so much! in answer to how we come up with the zaniness, we started with a cute little idea about @thementalsheep's dog and my art started getting a bit darker and darker as we went along and we just went along with it enjoying the contrast

About the platforms they're on our list of things to hopefully fix after the rating period has ended it just came down to time and we worked right up until the buzzer.

loved the burger and shrimp boss. made me laugh.

As a dog lover and pixel artist this hit the spot!! It was bonkers, I was laughing the whole way through (and plus points on The Simpsons reference!) although it hit me in the feels whenever the poor little fella died :cry:

The anticipation frames for the jump got me a bit - generally I think that for player characters they feel laggy (even if they look better) but other than that I enjoyed playing this fun, zany little game!

@alex-de-la-cour Thanks so much, I've done a bunch of still pixel art but this is the first time I tried my hand at making animations and I'm really happy with how it turned out, @thementalsheep did tear up when I showed her my animation of her dog dying the first time :sweat_smile:

I must say... I don't like the graphics. All the pixels have different sizes. But the dog is cute and the idea cool.

Exciting music and a great battle with the Burger King.
Looks like there is a random event witch keep you alive to meet the Burger King. I like this one.

The stopping before jumping makes the controls a bit confusing. Maybe it's intentional.

The controls seemed very strange to me. The fact that the doggie only jumps when you release space results in an unnatural pause before jumping and does not feel smooth to control.

Just by the way: as you didn't make the music, you should have opted-out of the audio category per the jam rules.
