It is a nice idea, it gets a bit boring to wait around while the crops are growing though. It is great for 48h. With a bit more time, it would be nice to have another minigame to wait around and maybe make some more money too ^^
I'm getting a bug in the web version where WASD isn't working... I think the embed in the page isn't being focused for some reason. Looks cute though, and I'll give it another try if there's a fix!
@maymay I'm not 100% sure what is causing that. I haven't experienced that bug, but sometimes you just need to click on the game. I don't really know, I can't fix it right now as I need to find the bug first.
@mariavalcam That's a good idea! I was going to implement GMOs so that you can increase the grow speed of crops and other things, but I ran out of time. If I have time this week, I'll work on adding a watering system to make crops grow faster, maybe fertilizer too.
Seems like you should get a few more seeds at the start, the loop is quite slow to begin with. I also got stuck in my own crops a couple times while planting, once I had to restart.
@paulstraw thanks for the feedback! I might increase the amount of seeds so that if you get super unlucky and have your crops eaten right away, it’s not game over. I made you start with the bare minimum amount to really embrace it being an incremental game, but if annoying I might change it. I’m not sure how you got stuck in the crops though, as the hit box is a perfect circle so if you turn you shouldn’t be able to get stuck. That’s pretty weird. As for your comment about the music, I made it in sound trap. I basically just took a bunch of loops and chords and Frankensteined them together to get the songs you hear in-game. I was worried they would be too repetitive, but I guess that’s just me. The music also sounds worse in the game due to the compression.
My only two complaints were the fact that the crops took a little too long to grow and when you had a bunch of crops to sell, you were barraged with the coin sound hundreds of times in a row. Other than that, solid entry. Good job.
@geraldfingburke thanks! I might change the crops grow time. As for the sound effect, it was added last minute and I thought it might be “satisfying”. I never had a chance to test it. This is the reason instead of selling all of your crops at once, it sells them one at a time.
@justin-c I’m working on the mouse issue. Because if the way it’s programmed right now, it will destroy any crop it’s touching. I might make a minuscule destroy sensor to prevent that, but I’m a bit busy at the moment. It might be changed this week. As for the robbing comment, I’ll probably make a cool down on it.
Pretty little game, i almost got stuck between 2 fields but i managed my way out ^^ it's nice to see a tutorial in a game! (ours definitly lacks one...)
Not sure why you released an android version with no working controls (besides looking at the finger position). Maybe you just assumed nobody would play it?
Awesome game! I used scratch a bunch when I was first getting into game design - this is way better than any of my first projects!

Good work though, the music is impressive!

The second time I played I bought a gun and just robbed the store over and over and over again.

Great work, especially for your first LD!
The store owners staring at my crops as we wait for them to grow xD
